Saw the trailer earlier today and I think it looks really good. The addition of Ken is interesting. Wonder if he'll be the villian (Him or that teddy bear with the crutch). Four months seems like a long wait, but I think I'll be fine.

yea! I can't wait!
It didn't seem too spoilerish to me (The trailer).
Can't wait for JUNE!

I just saw the new trailer and Ken would be a pretty funny villain. One thing I don't understand is how Andy is talking about Woody but not about Buzz and his other toys

Or talking about him like he's a person

I guess he is a person, but Andy doesn't know that.

That was an amazing trailer!

The movie looks great! I wonder how poor Mr. Potato Head will feel as Mr. Pickle.

I'm inferring that Spanish Buzz won't stay for very long. That meeting that Ken was having with the purple octopus and the other toys almost seemed like they knew something Woody, Buzz, and the game don't.

Lots O' Huggins Bear: You got a play date with destiny
Mrs Potoato Head: Andy's looking for us!!
I love the part when Potato Head metions he was tossed in a box with sand and linkin logs and Hamm says :uhh I don't think those were Linkin Logs (spoiler it was probably Cat poo or toddler poo or both)
Also I love Potato Head being turned into the classic toy Mr Picklehead....

I was so good at skipping the trailer till I read this! So I watched the trailer just to see Totoro.

I LOVE how he actually MOVES.
Mrs. Potato Head using her eye to look back into Andy's room is Pixar's usual genius storytelling. Loved it.
Andy talking about Woody even though he's in college? Awesome. Gonna be heart wrenching.
PS. Andy's kinda....cute.

Yes, Andy did grow into a handsome man somehow, into a handsome and well-animated man from an awkward and uncanny young boy...
But, this looks amazing! Molly's Barbie meeting Ken is interesting, and I do wonder how this is going to play about.... a few things I don't get...
How did Potato Head get all flat?
Why does Andy talk about Woody like he is a person? It seems like he knows he's alive.....
And, I dunno, this just seems like a lot of movie. Maybe it will be really, really long!

(Well, hopefully).
I do wonder about that triceratops, though. "It's just a dinosaur toy!" Maybe potential love interest for Rex!?
And.... I'm sorry, maybe I just wasn't paying close enough attention.... but is there STILL no sign of Bo Peep!? WTF!!!

I can only assume there will be a lot of fantasy/dream sequences. the most obvious being the monkeys and the train part, but Andy talking about woody too has to be part of that. I think the woody on the glider is fake too, with that green hue they added.
as for Mr.potato head, you didn't recognise that that's not even a potato? its a cucumber, most likely a reference to Cooky the cucumber, where Mr.Potatohead's toy roots lie.

I thought it could have been the ending. (If) Andy gets Woody back, then he's recollecting as to why Woody is so cool.
I agree with you about Woody and the glider though!

I dont think it would be in character for an 18 year old to talk about their toy like that though. plus, who's he talking to anyway? his thoughts on woody need to be expressed some other way. I really think this is how woody thinks andy thinks of him. (hope that sentence made sense, with all those "thinks", haha)
The real Andy would be too mature to talk about woody as if he were a real person like that. It would be one thing if they used young Andy to say this, but not the 18 year old one. [/i]

not to speculate the plot but i'll put my theory in white
Unless....Andy finds out what we've known since 1995?

He could be talking to (a really old) Buster.

And what 18 year old heading for college wouldn't love to tell stories to their elderly dog about how brave his toy from Childhood is?
uhh...I don't think its Buster...though a cameo I think I heard somewhere is in the movie If I recall correctly...its.....something about Woody Tries to ride Buster to rescue his friends from the trash or somthing...But...that doesn't work so well due to Buster's too old or fat

Yeah, Buster is old and fat, but I dont see Andy talking to him beyond "hey boy" and giving some commands here and there.
And if Andy finds ot their alive I'll eat my hat and shave my mustash. I dont have either, so I would have to buy them. Point being thats just not going to happen.

That sounds like a wager Mr. Kyle
Anyway...no I don't think that will happen either.....but you never know that I heard at one point in time years ago when it was leaked about them in a daycare and we thought how dull....it was revealed that Andy might learn somthing by the end of the movie....of course that easily could have changed and that was of course just a rumor post on some website I Can't remember which one....but I remember the debates on here....when that came up about a Daycare....and I swore that article said something about Andy Finds out the truth....but....how reliable is that Idk....and I could be wrong about the site
I say it would be unlikely that Andy learns the truth about toys...
But it would be one heck of a curveball if it happened

My guess is that Andy is passing Woody on to a young kid and that scene is Andy telling the kid about his memories with Woody.

A few years ago, here on the UD we predicted what would happen in Toy Story 3 if it ever was going to be made. I still want Andy's toys to be passed on to his kids. That would be a bittersweet ending because Andy isn't playing with them anymore, but it's still in his family.

Hmm, that's one scenario I hadn't thought of. I'd be perfectly fine with him talking like that if he's talking to a kid.
Edit: Also, I think he might be too young to be a father in that scene, but I just had another thought. Maybe he's dating a girl (future wife we can presume) who babysits kids. Not at a daycare but at people's houses or something, and he helps on occasion. He passes Woody on to one of them. could be similiar to the original idea of the daycare being their final home, but if if that proves to be a bad idea like it seems, and if they dont want Andy to be a father just yet, this could be a similiar way to allow Andy to pass him along to a kid who wont abuse Woody.
