Was Silvermist really in Wonderland ? Had no idea they would include a friend of Tink in either show.

I'm really worried this is coming, and if it does, my wife and I have decided to stop watching the show.atlanticaunderthesea wrote:When some of the 'Swan Queen' shippers got upset when Jennifer Morrison said 'Absolutely not' to the prospect of Regina and Emma having a relationship in that way, Adam and Eddy said that may be in the future for some of the characters from Once, just not those two.
Take from that what you will.
No, what's disgusting is how many people agree with you. I don't care if it's 2013 or 2113, wrong will always be wrong and right will always be right. Pushing homosexual themes into a family show (let alone a Disney show) is more than disgusting. I can just see poor Walt rolling over in his grave right now! Clearly, this ain't his company anymore, he'd never have been ok with this.Lady Cluck wrote:She is quite clearly a lesbian. Suggesting that this is inappropriate for a children's show is DISGUSTING, especially when Once Upon a Time already has plenty of "adult" themes. This is 2013.
Are you for real? I thought people who think like you were extinct years ago…milojthatch wrote: No, what's disgusting is how many people agree with you. Reported this message. This is unrelated to the topic, since girls liking girls is something normal.Lady Cluck wrote:She is quite clearly a lesbian. While choosing Mulan to be their first LGBT character on the show was a bit safe and conventional, I'm still glad they did so because there's very little representation of gay women in the media. Also, I never found Mulan's portrayal as stereotypical so their choice didn't bother me. Let's not forget, there are lesbians who are more masculine, and I find it positive they're being represented without being reduced into caricatures.RyGuy wrote:While I get the appeal of introducing a gay character, I think Mulan probably is the worst choice because it's so cliche ie, strong, non-conforming woman = lesbian. What sort of message does that send? If you are gay you have to be badass? Or if you are strong/tough, you must be gay?
The show has been very inconsistent with plot themes and character arcs and I often get the feeling they're making it up as they go along. I think they weren't planning on making Mulan gay back then. It was an afterthought. One could suggest that Mulan wanted to save Philip so badly for Aurora so she could be reunited with her love and be happy. Of course, there's the other scenario that Mulan is bisexual and she's in love with both of them like most of the press is claiming. But even if Mulan were bisexual, I find it hard to believe she would be in love with both of them at the same time. I wish the creators would finally speak up and clear the confusion regarding Mulan's sexuality.Disney Duster wrote:I can't look up the episode, but I swear during the early episodes of the 2nd season Mulan had a love triangle with Aurora and Phillip, and it was hinted that she loved Phillip because she very badly wanted to search for him.
I fully agree.DancingCrab wrote:And what does children watching this have to do with anything? Are you afraid little girls are going to be scarred by seeing a woman confess her love to another woman? If children are watching Once Upon A Time, they are already seeing a lot more mature content than that.
You shouldn't present your personal beliefs as undeniable truths. Just because you or your religion claim something is "wrong", it doesn't magically become fact. Anyone can easily argue otherwise.milojthatch wrote:I don't care if it's 2013 or 2113, wrong will always be wrong and right will always be right.
Setting aside your personal beliefs about homosexuality, the above statement is factually incorrect. "Once Upon a Time" is NOT a family show. It's aimed at adults of 18-49 and features many adult themes such as adultery, violence, and murder. It's not different than any other show on ABC. It's highly hypocritical of you to find those themes suitable for children (since you claim it's a family show) but not the homoerotic themes.milojthatch wrote:Pushing homosexual themes into a family show (let alone a Disney show) is more than disgusting.
Agreed.milojthatch wrote:I don't care if it's 2013 or 2113, wrong will always be wrong and right will always be right.
Translated: "Truth is in the eye of the beholder, and I decide what's true for my life." That line of selfish, egocentric thought has led to more destruction than almost anything else on the face of the planet. Whether we agree or not, some things in life are true for everyone; you can't have it both ways. Either a higher moral standard exists beyond human opinion, or it doesn't.Sotiris wrote:You shouldn't present your personal beliefs as undeniable truths. Not more than the destruction caused by religion, I'm sure. I don't think pro-gay sentiments have caused wars. That line of selfish, egocentric thought has led to more destruction than almost anything else on the face of the planet.
No; what has led to the destruction you speak of is forcing one's selfish, egocentric thoughts onto others to the point of causing pain, stripping basic human rights, and taking away lives all for the sake of some abstract, ideal set of beliefs. And for what? Morals consist of evolving, ever-changing beliefs that do little more than enforce control and supposed superiority. Everyone has their own personal set of morals that may or may not have anything to do with religion, as it depends mostly on their culture and the environment in which they are raised. Which is actually fine as long as nothing is done to interfere with the rights of others. And that is why, at least in the US, we're supposed to have the separation between the church and the state.moviefan2k4 wrote:That line of selfish, egocentric thought has led to more destruction than almost anything else on the face of the planet.
