I like the designs for Big Hero 6, something that was done before but the kind that grows on you over time.

I like the illustration.

This is growing on me as we get more and more info.

BH6 is clearly having a Wreck-It Ralph effect. No one noticed or cared in the early months, but now that more info is being released/leaked people are taking notice & like what they see :D

Hmm Hiro's brother isn't an exact clone of him...How long before we get complaints from the same people of the "Elsa/Anna/their mom look similar" group...

I thought that already happened when everyone was upset Honey Lemon was revealed as yet another female character to ape Ariel's design and steal Rapunzel's hair/eye color?

I think Disney actually did a fairly good job of making Hiro look distinctly Japanese vs another Asian ethnicity, like Chinese or Korean. Maybe it's the hair. That cute little scream he did in the first teaser also reminds me of anime.

I hope Honey Lemon looks less like Rapunzel as more pics of her come out, like what happened with Anna. I already don't think she looks much like Rapunzel in that handdrawn pic of her.

I wonder if they reuse models(with some redesigns) when they make these CGI films...

Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass, James Cromwell as Professor Callaghan, Alan Tudyk as Alistair Krei, and Daniel Henney as Tadashi Hamada.

Huge  on the voice actors. About as diverse as you can get!

I am so loving this. :D

Yes, they are not all Japanese anymore but look how many people of color there are. Although as I suspect some people will get up in arms that they made Fred white.

Thoughts on the cast and Character designs:

Hiro - Good voice actor, haven't seen him in anything, but I'm glad he's Japanese American and not full on american. I also like that article stated that Hiro was that too. His design is good..... not great.. And his superhero suit is not that nice.

Baymax - Happy with this character.

Fred - This is the character I'm most hesitant about... I don't like TJ Miller, granted I've only seen him in Transformers 4 but I hated his character so much... And I found him to be really annoying, so maybe it was just that one character. Fredzilla is.... Kinda gross actually. What a massive let down. He was the one character I was looking forward to. His third eye is gross and unnecessary (even if it's to control the suit)... His circle scales are also disgusting. And overall, it's just not that good of a design in my opinion.. I mean, look at the original comic's designs! That would have been a marvel to look at.

Go Go Tamago - Hm... Once again, these suits seem to be very very bland, especially for human beings who are prone to getting hurt... I mean, Superman has more protection and more fabric on him than these kids. Her human form is good and I'm very interested in seeing her skate on those discs. I just really hope that they don't make her this bad*** character who cares about nothing but is actually misunderstood and longs for friendship....

Wasabi - What is a grown man doing with these children? His design is nice and I like his costume. I just don't like the guy voicing him. :( But it's ok since this is an animated movie with just the voices, so it won't be bad. lol.

Honey lemon - Very peculiar character. Her human form is FANTASTIC! It looks great and unique. But once she gets into her suit.. She becomes Rapunzel. I honestly don't know why that happens. She just looks sooo much like Rapunzel. Now don't get me wrong.. I don't think Anna and Elsa looked like Rapunzel at all... But Honey Lemon just looks a lot like her sadly. I acknowledge that this is the Disney style... but this is basically like Wendy and Alice. I've never heard anything from her voice actress, so this should be interesting.

Overall... I just can't wrap my head around this... I mean, this is supposed to be Marvel and Disney but all I'm seeing is Cartoon Network and Sony (Despicable Me and Lorax)... These character designs are very goofy-looking and cartoonish.. I just can't see this as a superhero movie because it just doesn't look like one..
I've seen the pictures from the original Marvel comic and those look like superheroes... And I'm 100% certain that the violence will be very downplayed when compared to incredibles or Megamind. I'm not saying that violence is necessary.... But if these kids are fighting an evil force... I'm assuming that evil force will be Evil.. not considerate.
What we got was just cutesy stuff that will appeal to everyone. Very sad as this had a lot of potential.

Aren't we judging a bit too early? You sound like you've seen the movie and thought it sucked already . I can understand not liking the designs although it's strange you find them lacking in fabric, since they are all completely covered except for their faces. I definitely wouldn't say superman has more fabric on him anyways, unless you're including his cape which really isn't protection. I agree honey lemon looks like Rapunzel in her superhero form but I don't think that pic gives the best idea of what her face looks like since it's from an angle rather than forward facing shot.

Anyways, I'm sure disney is aiming for cutesy stuff that will appeal to everyone because the more people it appeals to the more money they will make. As long as the movie is good that's fine with me. I do wish they would vary their character designs more though.

I'm still looking forward to the movie. I've actually decided to disappear from this thread starting October cause I didn't want to read any spoilers. Wanna keep my mind fresh for the movie.

Deep down, I know it's gonna be a really good movie... It's just that those designs were a bit disappointing. :P

See... This is just not what I think a superhero movie should look like... But then again, we haven't really seen anything from the actual movie...

Great cast! I love how Disney continues to pick the best people for their animated films rather than shoving as many stars in as possible.

Well there are blonde Hispanic people so I don't see why not. It would add to her uniqueness!

Well, unlike what tumblr wants you to believe, there are white and blonde hispanics, so it may be a possibility.
