It's true. They're much more secretive than other studios and even more than Pixar which is odd since Lasseter runs both studios. WDAS only announced projects until 2013 while Pixar has announced projects up to 2016.

Besides Frozen and Big Hero 6, there are more projects in development at WDAS; they just haven't announced anything yet. King of the Elves is still in development despite its troubles and its numerous director changes. Musker & Clements are developing a movie that will possibly utilize a technique similar to "Paperman" (it's not a done deal yet; they are still doing tests). Dean Wellins is also directing a feature. I smell Disney's mojo coming back in full form.I think this time they will finally find themselves and create more quality movies like they did in the 90's.Sure,it won't be the fairy tale every year thing but I think it would be a mixture of different types of movies that range from fairty tale to novels to video games to even an obscure superhero comic book series.Disney might be different but I feel its got some new mojo propelling it in a great and new direction.

The reason Disney Animation is so secretive now stems back to when Pixar was developing A Bug's Life and John Lasseter enthusiastically talked about the project with Jeffrey Katzenberg, even after he went on to DreamWorks. After DreamWorks made its own computer-animated ant movie (which caused quite a headache for everybody involved), Lasseter decided that his studio would be more secretive about their upcoming films.

Yes, we know the story. Still it doesn't make sense that Pixar has officially announced projects for up to 2016 while WDAS only for up to 2013.

Letting people go between projects doesn't surprise me, the same happens in the videogame industry too.

Sotiris summed it up in a previous post. WDAS has a lot of ideas on the table, but can't make dissisons on what they want to animate. I understand they want to keep their projects secret, but when your rivals are announcing multiple films, it makes them look a step behind. We only should be focused on Wreck It Ralph & Frozen, because that's all they're working on now. BH6 hasen't been officially greenlit! If any problems arise in the next year, are they gonna shelve it, or push it back another year? Beyond BH6, will be aleast a year before we hear anything!

They also probably don't want a dueling movie situation where one movie's premise is very simliar to another's.Its the reason why Newt was cancelled because it was too similiar to Rio and Alpha & Omega in plot.

Thanks for that title sequence thing. It sounds to me like Walt wanted titles that appear in the movies and title sequences to be made by Disney employees, but I guess posters and merchandise might be another matter.

Man, Sega are really going full-out in supporting this, must want the Disney backing.

Still, he's in ASRT and doesn't take a spot from any potential Sega characters, so I'm down with it.

Anyone who is interested here is a little interview from Rich Moore about the movie.And it seems like Ralph was orginally going to be the intended bad guy while Felix was going to be the hero.Man,that is an interesting change espically I like the fact that Rich Moore acknowldges the similarities between Donkey Kong and Ralph's situation.Yes,in the orginal arcade game Mario(or Jumpman as he was called back then) abused Kong which makes technically Mario a designated hero.For Ralph his home was torn down for an apartment complex.

It also makes me wonder when it was called Reboot Ralph that Felix was orginally named Ralph who wanted to get updated into more mainstream games.Then they propally thought that the bad guy would have made a more interesting main character so they switched it.

I know it's a longshot, but I really hope this gets a midnight release. Disney has done them before and I think this one would attract the older video game crowd. I will be going if it does.

Why is it a long shot?? I don't remember the last time a Disney animated film DIDN'T have a midnight release (not counting Winnie the pooh, as I don't think anyone expected that).
