Watch as the spin-off or possible sequel of Tangled, Ranpunzel gets her long blonde hair back somehow. I approve if that's the case. she look fugly with punk style brown hair.

Would certainly be interesting to see what they do with regard to her hair; the short followed on with the film and had the shorter hair, whereas the the theme parks and merchandise pretty much ignore that fact.

I don't see why there isn't a full blown sequel to this; the demand is there.

I'm fine with a Broadway show. In fact, I think it could be spectacular if done right. But a new movie? Makes no sense.

Tangled Ever After is good enough. Once Rapunzel lost her hair, then any future stories wouldn't really be about her anymore.

Besides, we don't want Disney to fall into another sequel relapse.

Just hoping that WDAS isn't involved in any sequel/spin-off. The line 'for stage and film' as well as WDAS being occupied until at least 2018 seems to indicate that that will be the case.

Not sure what they could do with it, though. Tangled isn't very conducive towards sequels, it's premise isn't a creative one, especially with the long hair being gone, the film basically takes place in generic fantasyland with normal human characters.* All we have is the story which was all wrapped up and I'm not sure what they could do with the characters either.

Unless they pull a Swan Princess

It would be interested if they did do a sequel to Tangled, however I would much rather Disney do a sequel to Wreck it Ralph because I feel there's more a better story to tell and I feel would be just as entertaining as the first one.

The sequel should involve Rapunzel passing her magical hair trait on to her daughter and being overprotective of her while Gothel's equally evil sister Wothel tries to kidnap her. A history repeats itself sequel from Disney would be very daring and unique.

I wouldn't be surprised by a sequel. I wouldn't doubt if that's another reason behind the title, because Rapunzel 2 would seem much more off in the "what else is there to tell" way than Tangled 2. I think all that money Tangled made is too much for them to pass up with a sequel. I can imagine them salivating just thinking about it.

That sounds an awful lot like The Little Mermaid 2. First film's protagonist is overly protective of daughter who gains her mother's magical abilities and is being sought after by the previous villain's sister? Yep, definitely The Little Mermaid 2.

It would be the shortest sequel ever. All Rapunzel would need to do is cut 1/2 inch of her daughter's hair and it wouldn't be magic anymore.

Regarding the above mention from Alan Menken, it has since been revealed that the cruise line will be receiving a Tangled show. But one wonders if that's what Alan was talking about, or if he really does have something else up his sleeve.

Well, well, well... Look who finally decided to tell the truth about the name change of Tangled. John Lasseter! And it only took 3 years and a WDAS film grossing a billion dollars at the box office to do so! Remember when the Tangled directors were swearing on a stack of Bibles that the change was story-driven and not a cynical marketing strategy?

Here's what Lasseter is saying now.

The first Walt Disney Animation Studios released under the new management was the Princess and the Frog. A hand-drawn animation that won good reviews, it had the misfortune of being released at the same time as Avatar, the high-tech 3D box-office juggernaut, and performed poorly. But the studio learned lessons that set the scene for the success of Frozen.

“We were already working on a new version of Rapunzel and there was feeling that oh boy, the audience isn’t into these films any more,” says Mr Lasseter. “But I said, no, no I believe in them.”

“There was an audience perception that these movies were just for little girls but when boys, men, whatever, actually see these movies they like them. So on Rapunzel we rolled up our sleeves, we changed the name and we called it Tangled. We did marketing that made the people who would not normally show up say, ‘Hey, this looks pretty good’. Tangled was then a big hit and it opened the door for more of these movies.”

Haha, the title change was so obviously a marketing strategy, so there was no really need to lie about it.

At least "Frozen" makes more sense as a title than "Tangled" did, since the title indicates the main theme of the movie.
