I got mine at Best Buy. Got the 3 disc and I actually like the gold. Oh, and my best buy had run out of the Lucifer plush, I didn't feel like going on a scavanger hunt around the store.

3. I personally don't mind the colours used in the restoration, but what really annoys me is the fact that they blatantly used DVNR. Colours are ultimately subjective (at least from a fan's point of view), but linework is not.
Actually, with previous screen comparisons, colors are hardly any more subjective than lineart, and Disney's used DVNR before and since. They screwed up in the removed linework, but the technique has yielded beautiful results on other movies.

Ok ok...so aside from the botched restoration...
Is anyone else underwhelmed by this release?
I mean... we lost the galleries... and if they could do a visual commentary for Alice in Wonderland, which is considered to be less prestigious than Cinderella... why doesn't Cindy get one?!?!?! Seems like it is one of the VERY few films in Disney's upper class that isn't getting one... (this, and 101 Dalm)
What gives?

So, I picked up my copy today from Best Buy. They had plenty of Lucifer plushes. As I was checking out, I saw a woman in front of me who had a little girl and they were buying Cinderella. I told them to be sure to go get a Lucifer plush, since they came free with the purchase. They thanked me and got one.
-As for the plush itself...I think it's great! It's not rinky-dinky or tiny like these 'free' toys usually are. (My mom bought the Lorax from Best Buy not too long ago, and it came with a free finger-puppet that was pretty underwhelming.) In fact, this one (Lucifer) is about the size of the blu-ray case itself. I was impressed. I'd go as far as saying this Lucifer plush is better than the Disneystore's. The face looks better, more true to the character. It's smaller, true, but it just looks great to me. Be sure to get this at Best Buy if you can, the plush really is worth it.

You know the extra plastic casing that Disney uses when adding additional discs to normal Blu boxes (the bit that holds the disc in the middle), is there any place to buy them separately ? Just so I can add my Cinderella:Special Edition DVD to my bluray case, to keep them both together.

I am really offended by Luke's DVDizzy review. He says that people who fall for certain parts of Cinderella are "suckers".
tsom, if you looked at my "How Cinderella's 2005 Release was Restored very Wrongly" thread you would see the restoration was messed up with no question that can be seen by anyone, you don't have to be a restoration expert.
Lnds500 wrote:To be fair to the reviewer, I must say he was very kind when I contacted him and showed the restoration mistakes. He updated the review and told me to contact him again if we notice similar mistakes on other restorations.
Plus, if you haven't seen the film a lot of times on VHS etc or if you don't have anything to compare it to, it's very easy to think this is a brilliant transfer (I know I would think this too if I haven't come across the 2 threads in here). You will assume the animation is all there simply cause you don't know how the animation was back in the day.
Finally, Some people will be "in denial" simply cause they can't handle the fact that one of their favorite movies has been butchered. They will gladly comfort themselves that by some miracle they will get a brand new restoration
Okay, I just can't believe the reviewer would not count the mistakes himself as problems, saying its just for purists.

You mean this bit here?
It lies in the fairy tale magic, dream fulfillment, and "happily ever after" that so many people are suckers for.
I don't find it offensive. :/

'To be a sucker for something' isn't really offensive.... it's a saying.

atlanticaunderthesea I think that this extra plastic thing comes with any double case (dvd or bluray) that you can find. Search amazon for "blu ray cases".

Yeah, I'm proud to be a sucker for fairy tales and true love. That doesn't mean I'm a "sucker".

I don't know if it has been discussed here yet, but I was able to use my Disney Movie Rewards $5 coupon for the 3-Disc Combo Pack on the 2-Disc Combo Pack at Target. I ended up paying $18 for for the 2-Disc Combo Pack plus Storybook. Not a bad deal.

But he still said the movie could only be good if you're a sucker for that kind of thing.

No he didn't. He pointed out that there are many people who ARE suckers for that sort of thing. He never says anything about "you'll only enjoy this movie if you're a sucker for..."

The Lost Chords sound awesome! I've been listening to them all day. If a Cinderella musical is ever made, I see these songs having some potential.

Just went through the special Jewelry Box 3-movie Collection today. It looks great, but I wish the top played music when you opened it. Maybe "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" or "So This Is Love"?

Since I am into continuity, it really bugs me that there is no art on the disc like there has been for the other blu-ray releases. That was the first thing I noticed when I opened the packaging.
