And speaking of "Snow White", I'm going to show you two different title cards. One is the RKO titles of "Snow White" including the part of the main title and the original end title which will be appearing on the "Diamond Edition" Blu-Ray/DVD release. These two pics are from disc 2 of the 2001 Platinum Edition in the section of a bonus extra. It has the original RKO titles which are going to appear on the Diamond Edition release. Here it goes.





And here is what the partial main title and end title would look like which was featured on the 1993 VHS and the 2001 Platinum Edition DVD/VHS. This is a later reissue which was plastering the RKO logo. This is the Buena Vista version.





Tell us what you think about these titles. The RKO version is going to be appearing on the upcoming Diamond Edition Blu-Ray/DVD of "Snow White" in about 2 weeks, but after the RKO original end title, it will feature the cut-short Walt Disney Pictures new logo from 2006 which is appearing after that. The 1993 VHS and the 2001 Platinum Edition had the original Walt Disney Pictures logo from 1990.

Can anyone tell the difference between the RKO and the Buena Vista of the main titles?

I'm glad were getting the original RKO title as I really love that movie studio. They certainly had a run of bad luck and never managed to make it big but they had their fair share of classics (King Kong anyone?) and its nice of them to acknowledge the distribution deal with Disney. Anyways, I just want it as it was originally shown theatrically.

Now if only some early reviews would start popping up for this and the Wizard of OZ (DVDBeaver).

That all depends on how quickly Disney and Warners are at sending out their review copies.

And speaking of that, I found something in my collection that I found is an old Disneyland record of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". I do have the original vinyl and it was from 1968. This was an older album, but it is in excellent condition.



I have this video up on YouTube and here is a sample from that album entitled "Someday My Prince Will Come" from "Snow White" from the Disneyland album. This song was played on my 1970's GE Wildcat portable stereo record player.

But does anyone know if the Snow White $10 coupon (printed from Disney's website for previous Snow White owners) applies to the Blu-ray + DVD combo in the Blu-ray packaging?

I'm confused again. On the DVD combo pack, are the Blu-ray discs bare-bones or do they have the same amount of features on the BD combo pack?

I guess I should stick with the 2001 Platinum Edition, because the 2001 Platinum Edition has top notched picture quality than the Blu-Ray one. I will go with the 2001 DVD picture quality, hands down!

In addition to the Diamond Edition, it features a brand new music video done by Tiffany Thornton singing "Someday My Prince Will Come". I didn't really like Tiffany Thornton's version of that song, but I would stick with Barbra Streisand's music video, but sadly, it was featured on the 2001 Platinum Edition DVD/VHS, and it will not be appearing on the Diamond Edition anymore. And in other word you have the original movie version if RKO's on it. Amusing nothing else has been added to the movie it self or removed, crooped from it, since it original theterical distribution

With that said RKO logos should be on allDisney animated features up to and include Peter Pan.

Both actress/singers Streisand and Thornton were not born when the move first came out in 1937, so I don't cere about this music video. As long as the movie has the original titles, uncensored/unedited and original A. Ratios, Im happy.

Wow, the restoration looks fantastic, just as good as Pinocchio's. Haven't seen this in years and even then it was a VHS so this will be a real treat for me.

I see from a quick perusal of features that The Witch At The Cauldron deleted sequence does not seem to be included in the new Blu Ray version !!

This is a great disappointment to me as I was really looking forward to seeing how it looked post restoration as it was in both the two previous Laserdisc & 2001 Platinum DVD releases!!

The screencaps from DVDbeaver were kind of disappointing... I remember pinocchio looking much clearer. Then again, their SB BD screencaps weren't that great either (compared to blu-ray.com's screencaps) so all is not lost!

Th restoration is amazing. The lack of clarity your seeing was on the original film and is part of the inferior photo/optical techniques they were using in the 30's during production. By Pinocchio, superior processes and film stock had been created to make a much clearer image. They can't bring out detail where it doesn't exist.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks jpanimation. It's amazing how much technology can improve within the span of a couple of years.

Too bad Disney didn't put the original mono soundtrack in a lossless format on the Blu-ray. It is very good news that the RKO titles (like Pinocchio) have been restored. The caps look pretty good, too.

Screencaps look great, but why the hell are the opening credits pictureboxed? In the age of HD this shouldn't occur...

Can someone please direct me to the coupon. I'm too lazy to go back and try to find it in the thread myself. Haha
