Yes. PAL runs 4% faster than NTSC, as it is 25fps rather than 24fps.

126 minutes in PAL is 114 minutes (1991 BBFC classification for the video)

74 minutes in PAL is 71 minutes (2000 BBFC classification for the video)

That doesn't make sense, because the 2000 release had more content than the 1991 version.

Censorship is censorship. It's as simple as that. If it's either a couple of seconds, or an entire movie, doesn't matter.
By the way, there aren't any cuts, not since the 1991 restoration. The footage is either zoomed in to remove the centaurette, or she's painted out.
You could reverse the argument, of course. Would anyone really make so much fuss for just a couple of seconds worth of footage? Yes, it's stereotypical, but should every stereotype from every movie be removed? There will always be people who might be offended by it.

I think they may do a 'paint' job on this to get past the censorship. In Peter Pan, they changed the hues of the Indian Chief so that he wasn't as red (ridiculous, I know) and that was one of the early Lowry restorations too for the Platinum line. The only problem with doing this though is that the centurette has other body features that are stereotyped, so it's really up in the air.

In my opinion, I think they'll retain the original look of the scenes without zooming simply because the Diamond Edition line is supposed to be 'the best of the best' in terms of restoration and original presentation. Either way, during the restoration Lowry will have been able to look at the scenes in lots of detail

To me, the main problem with censorship is that people are willing to make the most fuss over the visual context of racism from production, and much less over other features of Disney films such as lyrics. There are so many examples of crude lyrics within these films, but they rarely get mentioned. If censorship aims for equality, then someone is doing a very poor job...

Lets just hope Disney release Fantasia uncut. Let by-gones be by-gones and accept that the state of mind back in the late 1930's/40's was very, very different to now, and to be thankful we live in a much fairer society.

After all, how are we ever going to accept this when the evidence is just so obviously swept under the carpet?

Well, not really, since titles like The Lion King, The Little Mermaid and Aladdin were still edited.

Maybe thats the box set with Fantasia 2000? Afterall, F2K isn't listed separately.

Maybe 'double play' is just the new marketing title for the Blu-Ray + DVD combo? This could explain why no DVD's are listed.

You're right. I went on to investigate and it says that Iron Man 2 is a triple play, meaning Blu-ray,DVD, and Digital Copy.

I was expecting something more different like having a cover where most of the characters are interacting. Like Chernabog dominating the top, the Sprite flying around Mickey, Donald catching hold of a star and the fairies flying with the sprite!

I know what you mean, I've been hoping for some new cover art as well. Maybe the US will get something new!

It's not the final cover art, but just temporary.

I know what you mean, I guess some people just see it as an addition of the product. From Disneys point also, the artwork makes a big difference to the selling point. They can target a specific audience based on whats on the cover, and with this in mind, I hope they don't place some crude imagery and dumb down the nature of the film.

I'd suggest they reuse the 80s/90s poster for Fantasia and have a new cover for Fantasia 2000.

At least there's no memorable disney song that can be ruined by Disney Channel, but I wouldn't mind having a upcoming orchestra or a school orchestra perform one of segements.

Let's remember that different regions don't usually have the same cover art, so if the German one is indeed that (which I highly doubt it will be), there is still a good chance that we will have a different cover art.

Well, just imagine how terrible that scene will look if they keep it zoomed in. With the sheer amount of DNR they apply, with the added clarity of HD, that will be one blurry image.
