Just realized something disturbing in the trailer. The genie is making a prince for Aladdin, and when Aladdin tells him that's not what he meant, the genie simply erase the prince he made from existence. Even if he didn't exist a few seconds earlier, genie brought him into existence and then more or less killed him.

Indeed disturbing...if that prince had a human soul. What if it was just a magic prince that wasn't really human? Are the genie's powers like God's, or whatever made this universe? And so what if he is like God and did make a real person, and then killed him? He's like God. Sometimes babies are born and then die just a little after. It's life.

I dont think he did what he said he could do, ie make him a prince. The prince says "yall seen my palace?" to me that would imply he was teleported. So when he's gone, he merely goes back to where he belonged. He got to make his point, no killing needed.

Not to mention, he created and got rid of humans before in the animated version when messing around, how is this any different?

It's inspired by the John Alvin poster.

Love the new poster! Always loved the old one so it's a great throwback.

Me too! Although it would have been better if the Genie wasn't present.

The poster's okay. I might have liked it more if the carpet didn't look like Aladdin and Jasmine weighed 500+ pounds and was about to drop from the strain.

I didn't notice it at first but now that you've mentioned it, I can't unsee it. I agree it would have been better if they ignored real-life physics and made them appear weightless. The carpet looking so deformed by the weight is not appealing.

 Like Sotiris, I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. It's true, that could've been improved.

The carpet looks fine compared to another glaring issue, their faces are lit up for no apparent reason. It should be in shadow like the rest of their bodies. The original poster got that right.

I feel like the light of the crescent moon is lighting the area around their bodies and thus their faces just a little. They are cheating a little, but it's nice.

lol, that's more than cheating a little. The moon is where most of the light is coming from, yes. But even if exaggerated, it would never reach the reverse side, at several stops higher intensity than the rest of their bodies. Their faces look like they are self illuminating which is quite jarring.

Genie is fine, aladdin you might be able to get away with, but jasmine, not at all.

Ironically enough, Jasmine's face is the most illuminated in the poster.

It could be teleportation, but they were talking about making a prince. When I saw the trailer I assumed the "yall seen my palace?" meant something like "Have you seen my palace? I don't like to brag but it's a true wonder". But yeah, it could mean "Where the hell did my palace go?" (and for a short second I wondered if it was a modern day reference to the artist Prince).

I didn't think the creation and destruction of other beings before I saw the latest trailer, and after having read a Gyro Gearloose story in a comic at the doctor's waiting room where people did get created and then destroyed without anyone caring it was stuck back in my head, so everything the people and animals in the cave didn't cross my mind. But in the comic the different characters keeps transforming into the genie, so it appears they are all just different versions of himself.
