My copy is out for delivery today! I’m so excited, I really thought we’d never see any 4K releases of pre-Renaissance animated films. I hope this year brings many more, including Mary Poppins!

Someone on Blu-ray.com said:
The Blu-ray is remastered - same master as the 4K version but the SDR version appears to be overly bright compared to the 4K version - the menus and bonus appear identical to the signature edition.

I thought SDR was only for 4K blu rays... not for regular ones.
And indeed, itunes now has the new transfer, and it looks GREAT. I see no pixelation, like on the Vudu website. Sadly, I don't love itunes as a platform, it's kinda clunky.
MT_A_MT: glad you agree the new transfer looks GREAT. Are you just seeing the new transfer now? You know you could have linked your itunes to a vudu account for free... (unless you are outside of the USA, then I am not sure Vudu works)

WOAH... MyMoviesAnywhere has also been updated with the new transfer!

Great! Now I'll be able to watch it
4K discs have HDR (High Dynamic Range), standard Blu-ray discs (1080p) have SDR (Standard Dynamic Range).

This is so strange. My copy on iTunes has the new restoration, but still keeps the Signature Collection artwork. Meanwhile, the restoration looks so beautiful.

Thanks, Farerb! How's it the same transfer on the Blu as 4k if the Blu is overly bright? (Sorry, trying to learn these things I know nothing about!)
I have to get ready for work so I can't check it out now, but the previous Cinderella release(s) on Movies Anywhere updated??!! Signature only? I get so confused on Movies Anywhere because sometimes if you already own a movie and try adding the new addition it says you already have it (and I guess it automatically updates to the new?) but other times it allows you to have both versions.

I'm not an expert myself but as far as I know they just convert the HDR to SDR for the Blu-ray, but it's sourced from the same master.
I have both the Signature Collection and the Diamond Edition on Movies Anywhere. It's the same with Aladdin and The Little Mermaid (maybe with other movies too but I only own Cinderella, The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin on Diamond). The Signature Collection title was updated to the new restoration, but the Diamond Edition didn't.

Awesome that Movies Anywhere updated to the new transfer! It's magic! I checked it out...and the part where Cinderella and the Prince walk down the steps into the garden...DOESN'T HAVE JUST WHITE WITH THE BLUE! IT'S SLIGHTLY PINK! And I can see the detail better the way it looks now rather than in the old, brighter, more saturated restoration! Miraculous!
By the way, the Disney Movie Club 4K has the new restoration on the Blu-ray and DVD!

I just checked out a few scenes on my iTunes copy, but I could only check it on my Macbook. The new restoration is fantastic. It looks very much like the 1995 Masterpiece VHS. "A Dream Is A Wish" looks particularly great, and the whole "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo" sequence as well. I will have to check it out on Blu-ray, when I get my copy. Maybe they'll update it on Disney+ as well.

Yeah I am outside the US and the VPNs I tried to use didn't work.

MT_A_MT: sorry to hear! My VPN works great... but glad you are able to watch the new transfer now!
I bet Disney+ will update on Friday...

I know, right Vlad?
Hey Marce82, someone on Blu-ray.com had gotten their copy of the DMC format with the DVD early, and reported both the Blu-ray and DVD have the new restoration!

While I am happy to hear about the transfer (no more nasty DNR, hooray!), there is bad news regarding on the Mono track; it's not on the Blu-ray and the 2.0 track on Blu/DVD is a downmix:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.ph ... st20994781
I would recommend getting in contact with Disney ASAP so they fix this problem for ALL the formats while there's still time (I already left my concern on the DMC Facebook page).
Meanwhile, here's a comparison between the old and new Blu-rays (old on the left, new on the right):

Just beautiful, isn't it?

Hmmm... that's good. But I won't be truly happy till I see an official review somewhere that mentions the blu ray and dvd have the new transfer... or someone here has their own copy and confirms it.

Oh... this is interesting: I have my youtube account linked to mymoviesanywhere. The signature Cinderella is listed as "purchased".... but now there is a listing for the 4K version, and that one is NOT purchased. And the Signature one is still the crappy transfer...
I guess this one is not updating... at least not yet
