Now with Cars 2, Pirates 4 and other films, the 3D combo pack had an exclusive Blu ray not found in the regular Blu ray combo pack
Oh, okay. I wasn't sure if there was something exclusive to each release type. Since the Diamonds are pretty feature-less at this point, I don't think I'd be missing much of anything anyway. :P

How many 3D logos do we need? You 3D twice on the front cover, you have a higher price-point and you will probably have a lenticular cover (needless to say you have a breakdown of all the discs on the back). You must be stupid to not realise this is the 3D version.

'The Little Matchgirl' will be included in high definition, right? It's imperative!

I always say if something isn't broken, don't fix it - and unfortunately, Disney has a habit of "fixing" things that don't need it. So when they leave something be, it's reason for celebration!

I don't know, I would more readily call using old art "lazy." New art is preferrable to me for a new release, they just need to hire better artists to create it is all.

Howard’s Lecture
Oh. My. GOD. They're including the full video of Howard Ashman giving his presentation?! :o I hope it's not just clips from it, but I think it might not be, considering Musker wrote on the Howard Ashman blog about how he hoped Disney would put it on a future release. I wonder if he fought to have it included? If he did, he's a fucking hero. (Well, more than he already was!) This has made me infinitely excited about this release! :D

I’m also curious about “Deleted Character,” just because--didn’t TLM have several deleted characters? I know there was a dolphin sidekick for Ariel, an old friend of Ariel’s who was in Ursula’s garden, and an Aquaman-esque character? I hope they don't just talk about one of them.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I think Ariel had one or more other sidekicks that they cut, besides the dolphin. That's so bizarre. I wonder if they were initially trying to recreate SW and SB, where the princesses in those films had multiple, miscellaneous animal followers/worshippers.

I agree, that would be preferable - well done new art. But "well done" seems to be hard to come by (see the gold cover), so I'm happy with this.

Doubtful. It wasn't included on the bonus feature list. It's such a shame; that short is so beautiful, it practically screams HD!
ProfessorRatigan wrote:They're including the full video of Howard Ashman giving his presentation?! I hope it's not just clips from it
That would make a great bonus feature (if it's indeed the whole thing and not just clips).

They didn't do that with "One by one" on the Lion King, so I'm not expecting the little match girl. Not in HD anyway. Another sd version wouldn't surprise me though.

Do you think we can expect a trilogy box set, akin to the Cinderella one from last year? Or would that have been announced today?

I would say that's a big possibility
