Hard to tell from a youtube post but looks like Cindy is getting a bit more production value than Mulan.

But post's appreciated in any event!

We'll know for sure next year!

Don't worry,i"m almost sure they'll make her a mermaid (as the fracnhise, like Jasmine is afer The Return Of Jafar or Belle in Beast's castle after he saved her from the wolves or Snow White that she still live with the dwarfs or Pocahontas before she met Jonh Smith).

Aurora's story was never omitted from the series. We've sen clips of it...it's been fully animated. Disney is just holding it for a future release. Cinderella just has a simmilar story, she has not replaced Aurora's story.
I think they do,i don't think they'll make another Aurora story (i think they want a story for each princess in each volume, not making 2 stories for the same princess) and since Cinderella has a similar story then i think she replace Aurora's and also Aurora's story is titled "A Kingdom Of Kindness" so it changed.
I wonder what story Snow White can have,or Pocahontas.

Disney Villain, thanks for posting the songs!

I hope that if the DVD sales are good, they will release a soundtrack. They could also include songs from Cinderella III!

I just watched it and I loved every minute!
Despite what everyone else said I loved the Sleeping Beauty segment. Both were briallant but I was so happy to see Aurora brought back to life for the first time since the original classic. I loved her developed personality and all the comedy included in that segement. Also I wanted to point out that went she says to turn her night dress pink it is a reference back to the first film: 'Make it pink.' As for her giggling it was justified and I don't believe it dumbed her down at all.

Jasmine's segment was great and I didn't miss Aladdin or Genie at all. It was about time Jasmine got to be featured on her own and she made a fantastic solo heroine just like the other Princesses.

The animation and songs were great and I look forward to collecting the rest of the series on DVD. So far I have watched this one twice tonight and I am about to watch it a third time while studying (lol).

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!

Makes me wonder why Aurora would sleep at all after what happened to her. I wish the would make Aurora blue and Cinderella silver. Maybe Flora brainwashed her into wnating the dress pink.

Oops, missed it.

Anyways, liked the trailer but both Cindy and Mulan looked off model from what I was able to see. And the colors seemed muted, but it could be because of the You tube quality.

Looking closely at DPET #1, both Aurora and Jasmine veer off model and back again. This is pretty typical of animation involving demanding characters (those girls are __hard__ to draw well ! ) and low budgets.

I could only imagine how difficult our favorite ladies are to draw. In Sleeping Beauty, the animation is stunning. When Aurora twirls in the forest so does each and every curl, each line in her dress, every aspect of her clothing….it's amazing. Marc Davis and the animators must have had many long nights. The same goes for Jasmine in Aladdin. In Enchanted Tales it's understandable that the characters are drawn off model, due to the low budget, different animators…and just the fact that they are HUGE characters for Disney.

kurtadisneyite I enjoy reading your posts. I feel they give me that extra "backstage magic". :D

I have to admit, though, that even if the characters aren't always on model and the animation can be stiff they still did a great job. I saw the movie again yesterday and I was amazed at how they were able to perfectly capture the design of the original movies. You can tell that Jasmine and Aurora live in unique worlds. The characters in Aurora's story have the same angular, medieval design from the original movie while the characters in Jasmine's story are "curvier" and rounder keeping with the traditional Arabian art style of the original movie.

Again not perfect but considering the type of project this is the animation is really good.

Well that makes perfect sense.

That's like saying "Doctor, you gave her a lethal overdoe of anaesthetic, you cut through a major artery during the operation and as a result she bled to death. But you still did a great job!"

I believe you might be confused. I did say that the characters weren't always on model but that the overall product is better than expected. The backgrounds were really good and the style of the original films was well captured.

To try and sum it up: I would give the animation a B-. Backgrounds, colors and design are great and stay true to the original films, but the animation is stiff and the characters don't always stay on model.

Does that help?

Hm... I'm gonna have to disagree. You all know I love Ariel, but I hope her Enchanted Tales features her as a human. I see her as a mermaid on the TV Series every day (THAT SHOULD BE ON DVD WITH ALADDIN!) Plus, we know she's gonna be a mermaid in the 3rd movie. I'd like to see more of her as a human, after marriage, but pre-Melody. Hopefully Chris Daniel Barnes will do Eric's voice and not the horrific Rob Paulsen. I just cant fathom why he did Prince Charming's voice but not Eric's. I wish I had his phone number to call and scream at him.

Anywho, even though I'd like to see Ariel as a human, it probably wont happen, cause after all she IS The Little MERMAID. That's what's going to sell.

And as for future volumes... I dont think Vol. 2 should include Cinderella. We recently got Cindy III. and Vol. 3 shouldnt be another Aurora one since we just got her on Vol. 1.

Those are just my thoughts. Oh well.

**Side note: If it does give us mermaid Ariel, I hope it HEAVILY involves Ariel's sisters.

I"m sure it'll be Ariel as a mermaid,it's the francshise's plot line (Aurora,Cinderella,Mulan after the film,Snow White live with the drawfs,Jasmine after TROF,Pocahontas before the film and so on).

It ain't happening. In the old previews (as well as the new music video) Belle was still living in the cursed castle so the servants and the prince are still cursed.

Just how many stories can they cram in the months Belle lived at the castle? The events in the original movie seemed to happen one after the other.

I agree with you on both the TLM and BATB things. I mean the only thing we see Ariel as a human in (other than the orginal movie) is The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea, and I just like to forget that Ariel ever had Melody or Morgana every existed. I'd like to see Ariel either when she's still a human in number one and can't talk and on the date with Eric, or see a story with her just before or after her and Eric's wedding.

Now on to BATB. I'm pretty certain it's been confirmed that Belle's story will take place while she's still living in the castle and she and the Beast are growing in love with one another. Even though I just said that I'd like to see Ariel's story when she's still dating Eric, it's not because a crazy Ariel fanatic thing with wanting Ariel to always have the best. No, I just feel like Ariel and Eric look more like a crush couple rather than a real couple like the Belle and the Beast. That's my only problem with TLM and that's it feels a lot like she wants Eric because he's handsome. But you can tell that's not the same with Belle and the Beast. I feel like they've established their relationship and we should see what life was like for Belle and the Beast/Prince Adam after the transformation. Not so with Ariel and Eric.

I guess I have a lot to say since I've rarely been in this topic. Anyway, I wasn't too excited about this line because it seemed like useless fluff. I might buy it now but I doubt it. If I buy one it'll probaly be Ariel's and Snow White's editions. All I wanted to say.

Sleeping Beauty Feature cost a lot because many scenes were redone several times to get rid of inconsistencies in animation, and ink-trace jitter (that's right - they sent entire scenes through the whole production pipeline several times until they met the standards Walt had set for the animators).

Watch Cincerella 1 Feature by comparison and you will see a lot more shape shifting and jitter within the characters.

The girls are __very__ difficult to draw consistently. The two Disney artists I know have years of experience with them, but even they vary now and then.
Far better than me, though. I have enough trouble keeping my own 2D characters consistant, let alone Disney stuff! ;-)
