The japanese sure knows how to market the movie alright.

I really love it! Especially where Hans slices Marshmallow's leg, Elsa running from a crashing chandelier, and Anna screaming Elsa's name at the end!

Amazing trailer. I loved the "Conceal, don't feel, put on a show. Make one wrong move and everyone will know." part Idina's voice is amazing.
I'd like to point out that they left the songs in the original language in the japanese version. Wish they did that in the spanish one. But nope, they translate even the credits song.

There was a person on IMDB who saw a 3D screening of Frozen and really loved it to the point where he said it was equal to Beauty and the Beast as his new favorite.

Oh man, I'm trying my best to keep my excitment down but DARN IT! I can't get excited enough!

Well, the two trailers are very similar. Just think the third American one has the edge for the scenes played during the opening narration, does a better job of setting the stage I think.

Random question: Are the songs going to be in English even in the Japanese version? That would be rather jarring, no?

Keep in mind that a lot of these reactions come from Disney fans who would have been positively inclined towards it in the first place.

I'm also a little bit sick of people continually using BATB/TLK as benchmarks. Sometimes feel as if they are forcing these comparisons, also can be seen whenever people talk of a second renaissance and try to draw direct parallels.

(BATB is a little bit overrated)

I would agree that this time, the West has the edge. The new Japanese trailer is obviously superior to the second U.S. trailer (which was garbage IMO), but the U.S. "Elsa trailer" had a more ominous, mythic opening, with the fairy-tale narration. Much more dramatic and powerful.

I agree with you, the third US trailer has a mysterious opening that it really builds anyone's excitement.

I do agree that comparing these new films to the films of the Disney Renaissance is silly but I do feel that Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie of the modern era after Walt's death.

I do agree although that The Lion King is freaking overrated as all get out. Good grief people fall head over heels in that one.

Also, that early review on DisneyGeekery* that was posted earlier is merely a fan review, not one done by anyone even resembling a professional critic. Not saying that his opinion is necessarily inferior, there are terrible critics even among those designated as 'top critics' on RT**, but something to consider.***

* I first came across this review on reddit where many commenters suspected that it might have been planted by a marketing shill. Think Brown did a good job of defending himself though.

** By which I mean the Guardian's Peter Bradshaw and his amazing 150 word reviews. I eagerly anticipate his customary 2 star review, half of which probably won't even be about the movie.

One a completely random note, nothing excites me more than coming across pictures of dead animals when scrolling through the Frozen tag on Tumblr.

I think that's assuming a lot from those comments, actually. Are you sure he wouldn't have preferred a Ghibli film to a 2D Disney film, too? There are many people who feel Ghibli films are more mature than Disney films (for good reasons).

Read through his blog by the Disney section and he adores 2D animation. There is nothing wrong with that, but his reasons for walking out on Frozen are dumb. If it was 2D he wouldn't of been so harsh on Frozen judging by his blog.

Good video. Demi looks fine and I begin to like her version more and more. I'm glad the video showed clips from the movie.

She sings the song well, but I feel they could have put more thought and creativity into this video. It's just a generic promotional music video with her singing on a random set with movie clips edited in.

Yeah, it doesn't feel like they put any more thought into it than say Carly's PoYW video, or Jordan's BatB. Still, the clips were nice. Really looking forward to seeing Let it Go in 3D.

I think Demi has the right voice for the song. I just don't like the way her cover was produced.

As for that new Japanese trailer-Wow! Elsa's powers and ice castle design.

Well, she didn't get the part because they were never looking for someone like her I guess, so I suppose had they cast her, both the character and the film would have been completely different.

Actually glad she didn't get it. Her voice didn't suit Punzie at all. Mandy was perfect for the part.

But, how AWKWARD would it have been because her WICKED co-star, Kristin Chenoweth was going to voice her.
