@the news you posted earlier, Sotiris: I got so confused at first. I thought they were saying the
new title was "Bleeding Cool" until I realized that was the name for the next news source.

Well, you can't blame me for thinking you were joking.

It wouldn't be that suprising coming from Disney.

Not happy about the title, adapting classic stories like Rapunzel and The Snow Queen and change their name like that is not necessary. Had Disney made The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella or Beauty and the Beast today they would have called them something ridiculous to "hide" the fact that they are fairytales. In 50 years when Tangled and Frozen stands on the same shelf as Sleeping Beauty and Aladdin, their new names will not match well with the classic, timeless names of the other Disney fairytales.
But at least this means that we will get this movie, and as early as 2013. Yeah!:)
Is Alan Menken still the composer, I wonder...

There's other pictures in development but SQ/Frozen is the farthest along. The movie got put up on story reels a long while ago; immediately thereafter, the Main Lot decided to place it on the backburner. (Wasn't Lasseter's idea to do this, but someone who wears a suit.) Then Tangled grossed a lot of money and Frozen got put on a front burner.

I was able to see some production art for this at SIGGRAPH, although they might change some things from production to final film obviously.
We weren't bound not to say what we saw, we just couldn't photograph/video the artwork. What I did see was storyboards with the Queen and what appeared to be a comic-relief Snowman lackey. Gerda was a younger girl (not a teen) with dark tan/brown Caucasian skin and brown hair. Eyes were brown too. We got to see two magical old ladies, one tall, one short concocting some magic.
Of course all that could change! But if anyone wants to know some of what I saw, there you have it.
Actually, the storyboard was not at SIGGRAPH, it was in class. I'm an animation student.
But the stuff I saw at SIGGRAPH this year regarding Gerda, the old ladies, etc. was definitely production art Disney showed.

Yes, it's on page 7. But:

And apparently you like to make "jokes" when people are trying to share information they know with the board.

Could you please share any more details you know? Could you describe us the concept art that your friend saw at WDAS?

Yes, there was a mix up. 'The Snow Queen' was renamed to 'Frozen' and the 'Untitled Pixar Movie about Dinosaurs' remained...untitled.

No. See the two previous pages for more details about the mix-up.

Anyone would make a sarcastic remark when someone just all of a sudden pop in announcing news like "My _______ work at Disney animation and he/she said ___________"
without and backup claim or proof behind it. This the internet where fault information and rumors can easily be pass around.
Now that we know you were telling the truth, i will apologize for what said, but you should not have been surprise by the initial replies back then.

Truth. Welcome to the internet folks. Two things required: a sense of humor, and a backbone.

I wonder how much of an influence Tangled has had in Frozen. Obviously similar titles, but as far as the plot. Because Tangled took a female-centered story and put in a male co-lead. Obviously this film isn't called The Snow Queen anymore, so how female-centered will this film really be, I wonder? I mean, if you include Gothel, Tangled had two very solid female characters, but Disney made it be known that Rapunzel was not the only star of the film. So, I'm just wondering if a male will have a bigger role in Frozen than in the original story.

Only that work is giving Kay a much larger role but considering the whole plot is for Gerda to haul her ass over to north pole to save her boy's ass I'll say it will still be Gerda focus anyway.
It's a shame though. Best way if marketers were smart was to have snow queen have a mad bitchin awesome design and personality and advertise it correctly. I have no doubt that then the title would of remain as Snow Queen as boys will not even think it's "another girly movie".
but whatever. I can't wait for the shitty snow/ice puns in the movie and see how it holds up against Arnold's

So what's happening with KotE then?
I thought the storyboards and testings were on schedule and the film would be released 2013?
I really hope KotE is still in production/development
Does anyone know why the sudden switch?
