Fox to Release 3D 'Glee' Concert Film in Theaters
“Glee Live! 3D!,” featuring the North American tour, will be released Aug. 12.
Fox's television and film studios are teaming with Glee creator Ryan Murphy to produce Glee Live! 3D!, a film of the upcoming Glee Live! In Concert! North American tour.
Fox will release the film in theaters for an exclusive two-week run on Aug. 12, 2011. Starring 14 members of the television show, the pic wll be shot live during the summer concerts, capturing both the concert and backstage moments with the characters.
Kevin Tancharoen (Fame) is directing the 3D movie.
It will alllow fans — or “Gleeks” -- who are unable to see the concert, or who want to see it again, to experience the show in the immersive 3D experience.
“This tour was all about going out and performing for our amazing fans who have supported our show from the beginning, but due to the limited time we had to travel during our hiatus, there were only so many cities we could get to before we had to resume work on the television series,” said Murphy.
“We knew that not every fan who wanted to attend a concert would get that opportunity. Now, thanks to our friends at Twentieth Century Fox Film, we’ll be able to bring the concert experience to movie theaters across the country in full three dimensional glory. We promise every passionate ‘Gleek’ a cinematic experience that will have them singing and dancing in the aisles.”
Glee Live! In Concert follows last summer's blockbuser concert tour, and gets underway May 21 in Las Vegas. It wraps its domestic tour June 18 in Uniondale, New York, before moving on to the U.K.
Going on tour are Glee stars Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowtiz, Mark Salling, Dianna Agron, Naya Rivera, Heather Morris, Harry Shum Jr., Chord Overstreet, Darren Criss, Ashley Fink and members of The Warblers.

Since there is no way I'd be able to attend any of the concert sites (with the closest one to me in Cleveland), I'll probably end up seeing this. The 3D is a total waste, but at least I'll be able to see it.

I will.... probably see this in theatres.
If not, I'm sure I'll purchase it on Blu-Ray.

I may see this. I tried to get concert tickets for my birthday, but they were all sold out.
And as for this weeks episode, I'm so glad they didn't break up Kurt and Blaine. It was fairly obvious that they weren't going to, but I'm still relieved. On the whole, this episode wasn't my favourite, but it wasn't horrible either.

I would see it if it had at least one more exclamation point. Like "Glee! Live! 3D!" or something.

I wouldnt mind seeing Glee Live 3D. The question is how many theaters are actually gonna get it? Hannah Montanna and Jonas Brothers were in limited releases and Beiber was given a wide release. I hope Glee gets a wide release cuz they actually have talent.
And to certain people who say otherwise, I say this: *the* major theme of the show is to have faith, and in episode 13 of S1, one character even scolds two other teams for cheating because they have no faith in their students' ability to sing and miss the point that Glee Club about loving singing and not about winning"

I hope I'm not the only one who found Jessie's return a bit forced, or that we could ahve done without "Friday", but I did really like the episode overall. The revelation of Prom Queen was a suprise to me, but I liked how they handled it.

I loved Friday! It got me dancing. But Jesse's intro was so cringeworthy and forced. Great episode though! I'm glad Mr. Shue wasn't prominent in this episode. Also, I never realized how beautiful all the girls are!

Friday was the best cover, though! Dancing Queen was also good. What was stupid was Jar of Hearts, not only is the song already stupid, why would anybody slow-dance to it?? Forced song. I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance with You by that Blaine guy?? Forced! Why was he there?
They're having trouble getting to fit the songs they want into the show. For instance.. how the hell did the Barbra Streisand flash mob make Rachel reconsider her nose job?!
They need to showcase show tunes again, and not the occasional, once-every-three-episodes, Rachel Berry thing. I want at least one per episode and have big group dance numbers. With every episode they do, the songs get newer and newer. When the show started, absolutely everyone watching new a song or two, no matter who you were, now it's just they're weekly Top 40 covers.
The story was very good though. I would have liked a different prom king and queen but I understand why they did it, I just found it predictable.

I loved all the music numbers except for "Rolling in the Deep"--they didn't pull that off at all. McHale also sounded nasally on Stevie Wonder's song, though I still liked it.
Loved "Dancing Queen" though. I'm not familiar with Rebecca Black (don't really watch YouTube), but I've heard they've done it way better than the original. Not that that amounts to much, I'm sure.
I was unfortunately spoiled to the prom queen thing, but it was still a good episode. Liked Sue. I was never crazy about Jesse though (brings back reminders of the really bad second half of 1st season), so not sure how to feel about that. The Finnchel relationship drama is a bit dull though.
To rs_milo, I agree that the direction this season has been more "new." I think that was a conscious decision though, considering the majority of last season's songs were "old" (they made fun of Schuester's song choices in one of the first episodes this season). I think they actually meant to have this season turn everything on its head: less Rachel-centric, newer songs, more diversity in the characters that are given stories/songs, less of the adults, etc. Besides the Keisha and Bieber dreck, I've been okay with the songs for the most part. Also, I don't remember them doing
that much "musical" stuff last season either, though there was definitely more of it.

If you had watched the show in full (or had listened), Milo, you would know that Blaine was there as Kurts date so your question/comment on why was he there is rather confusing. Maybe you missed that whole scene where Kurt asked him?
I think the songs could have been chosen better, Dancing Queen was easily the best imo out of the bunch. Didn't overly care for Jessie returning. I was surprised about the results of Prom King and Queen and rather liked how it was all handled.

I meant why was he performing at McKinley's Prom, did Kurt ask him to sing with New Directions? May be I did miss that part.

I believe there was a line/scene that said he was helping out at the Prom. I want to say it was the scene where Blaine was with Kurt, Burt and Finn but I don't quite remember.

Watching the latest episode on Hulu right now and was surprised to hear them doing Friday.

I caught tonights episode and I have to say it wasn't surprising who it was for me. Though a tiny bit of me did hope I was wrong that it would have been someone else *pushes Quinn in front of a bus* Though in seriousness, I had thought of Karofsky as a twist from the obvious.
Not too sure how I feel about the songs, they might need a second listen to really get an idea of it. I wasn't overly wowed by Santana and Mercerdes' songs initially.

This episode wasn't great for me. I'm excited for next week though! But I am glad Finn and Quinn broke up.

According to Wikipedia, which, of course, could mean absolutely nothing, there will be a cover of "Bella Notte".
That could be verrrrrrrrryyyyyy interesting!!!

It's been out for a few days:

It's not my favorite cover (none of them sing "Notte" correctly), but I'm glad that they're at least covering a Disney song. I think that I don't like it all that much because I'm so attached to the original version; and I miss the Disney chorus on the second half of the song.
