Is this promotion only for the week?

Why didn't I see this BEFORE I placed my order this morning? I did manage to snag Peter Pan and Cinderella though for $16.99 each so I suppose it wasn't a complete waste. Like an idiot I forgot to check the box for the free Peter Pan figurine. Luckily, my son is only 8 months and won't realize he is missing out.

My store actually had the Vault Disney only like a month ago. But my problem was that the ad showed the Vault Disney (which my store had very recently), and I was ready to finally get, but when you go in there it is not that one. I like the Vault Disney dvds (not that I have any). But I think the commentary is really great whenever they include it on a dvd.

For those not sure about getting "A Goofy Movie" because of the transfer, I have the DVD but I don't notice things like that as much as some folks, but I have to give that DVD tons of points for its great bonus features! For those alone, I highly recommend that DVD. Plus, it's such a good movie!
Anyways, I went out Sunday to take advantage of this deal right away after reading the ad online. Yes, in the ad, it has the Vault Disney Old Yeller, and that's the main reason I went out that same day. I've been wanting to get that one for a while. I love that film and want all the Vault Disney DVDs, but only have the Parent Trap so far. But, I definitely want the Old Yeller because of that commentary rather than the double feature. However, I want Savage Sam too. Did they ever sell that one on DVD on its own? Anyway, I was disappointed to find that they didn't have the Vault Disney version after all. I knew it was out of print, but I thought that they may have dug some up, since it was in the ad. I also notice that no one seems to have the Vault Disney version of Pollyanna anymore either. "Swiss Family Robinson" seems to be the only one I'm still seeing. I need to grab that one and 20,000 Leagues ASAP!
Anywho, though I was disappointed, I still wanted to take advantage of the deal. 30 bucks worth at least. They had a similar deal sometime before Christmas, and I think it was an even better bargain, but the titles were different. I was broke at the time though. Anyways, I did choose 3 DVDs: the original "The Shaggy Dog" (been wanting that one for some time now), "Read It and Weep" (haven't seen it and hear it's not very good, but I adore the Panabaker sisters), and "Sky High" (been wanting that one forever too) in widescreen, of course. If I had the money, I might have gotten the 6 for 50 deal, but not sure if they had anything else too tempting (that I don't own already). The problem with the Witch Mountain movies is that I think they're missing commentary too. I'll have to seek out the out of print, individual versions.
Anyway, today I went out and got Peter Pan there, with a free Wendy figure. Pretty cool bonus! Wish they'd had something of Tinkerbell though. I don't have many Wendy items, which is why I chose her. Also, she was the one they had the fewest of (though I know you can buy those figs and playsets at Toys R Us). I might have gotten the lunch box, but this purchase took almost my last penny as it was. The cool thing is, I now am only 75 points away from getting "DuckTales the Movie" at Disney Movie Rewards. The bad thing is, I'm broke now and probably will be that way for a while. Argh!
Here's another tip I've posted elsewhere. At my local Suncoast (in the mall), they have a table up front marked "Used" right now. It has several DVDs on it, mostly Disney, that are low priced and in reality, NOT used! I don't know why they're doing this, but they are mostly Disney live-action classics. Unfortunately, I'm broke, but I did snag a brand new copy of "Darby O'Gill" (just in time for St. Patty's Day) off the table. This is separate from where they keep their REAL used DVDs. They had other great titles too, and even some recent and animated stuff, like Mulan 2. Now, not everthing marked with a used sticker was new, but most of it was. You could tell because of the wrapping, with the security binding that had the movie title on top still intact, and even some promo stickers sometimes. It took me a while to be sure they were new (I never buy used anymore, too many scratched ones), but I took a chance, and sure enough, the one I bought was brand new! So, I recommend checking your local malls for Suncoast stores with DVDs like that. It made me curious about their actual used section, and I think I saw a few there that might be new as well. Oh, but about the prices. I paid 10.99 there for Darby, which is the cheapest I've seen it. They had prices ranging from 6.99 for stuff like Babes In Toyland, to 10.99 and maybe even 11.99 on a couple. Most were 10.99, and some of them I know are already 9.99 at Best Buy, so you do have to do some price comparing. 10.99 would have been great for Mulan 2 or Leroy and Stitch, or Lilo and Stitch 2, but those ones, while being new, didn't have slipcovers. I may end up getting them without slipcovers anyway, but since I know there are still copies out there that have them, I went with the Darby DVD. Been wanting to upgrade on that one forever anyway.

Peter Pan Besy Buy Question

So I got Peter Pan at Best Buy to get the free figures and was wondering, does anyone know where you can buy the rest of the ones on the back of the package? They only sold Peter Pan, Hook, and Wendy at Best Buy. These are the same figures Famosa sold in Europe and it will be cool if they start selling them stateside as they did obscure Disney films like Robin Hood and Sword in the Stone.
I posted this in the DVD section since these are being given away at Best Buy if you buy Peter Pan so I thought this would be the forum to get the most responses in and it makes sense because it‘s a DVD give away.

The way I understood it was they'll be available soon here...I'm not sure where I heard that, so maybe I'm wrong. I was upset they didn't have the skeleton pirates there, myself.

What department at Toys R Us? I checked there Tuesday and thought they may be in the Thomas the Tank Engine side or the doll/Play school side but found nothing there. I didn't see any Meet the Robinsons stuff either.

I've seen them at Toys R Us over where they have stuff like Krypto the Superdog and the kiddie-cute style versions of superheroes. They have a pirate ship for them and everything.

I'm a little glad to hear this news. When I went to Best Buy to pick up my DVD Tuesday, I sort of flew in there, picked up the first Peter Pan DVD I saw, went up the register, and picked up the first Hook figure I saw, gave them the cash, and fled. Needless to say, I was in a hurry! (My parents didn't / don't know I bought Peter Pan, and I really didn't want them to know. They would likely blow up).

But when I got home, I looked at the packaging for the Hook figure and noticed that there was also a Mr. Smee figure and I was suddenly REALLY sad. (You see, Mr. Smee is one of about 3 characters that I REALLY like in Peter Pan). I was tempted to return Cpt. Hook and trade it for Mr. Smee (assuming they still had it and that they had it in the first place).
But now all's good. I'll keep the Captain Hook figure and maybe head over to ToysRUs sometime to get a Smee to go along with Hook.

Did I ever mention how Platinum Days (as I call them) are my 2 favorite days of the year?

No sign of Tarzan or The Emperor's New Groove Collector's Editions? I need to replace my crappy Special Edition disc of Tarzan fast before I have a nervous breakdown. I still haven't bought TENG, only because I refuse to waste $20 on another completely drab release.

I still have the original single-disk "Tarzan", but I only had the VHS of TENG, so I bought the New Groove Edition...I rented the Collector's Edition from the library a year or 2 ago, so at least I could watch the bonus features for free. The DMC still lists the CE of TENG, but it's always out of stock (of course).

Those went OOP so long ago that it's doubtful you'll find them in a store, especially one like Best Buy. Your best bet would be to try the large drug store chains like Eckerd, CVS, and Walgreens. Their DVD's don't get shopped as hard as the ones at electronics stores. A friend of mine has found several OOP titles at those places.

Best Buy also had the 2 disc collector's edition of "Dinosaur" for the same price as the Atlantis one.
...oh and this is in Best Buys in South Florida
aren't those 2 supposed to be OOP? no sign of TENG and Tarzan 2dCE's though...
I flipped out when i was browsing the shelves and lo and behold the Atlantis 2-discer....I didn't buy it though since I already got mine from Ebay for a lower price. I always got lucky when i was on the hunt for the 3 animated 2 disc collector's editions, i found Tarzan and TENG by fluke at a Gamestop near my school.

Nope. "Dinosaur" and "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" are both still in print, though it is hard to find it in stores, well, now it's not

You guys are lucky you can find all those near you. I check Walgreens a bunch of times, and the CVS near me doesn't even have DVDs anymore, the only two I saw at CVS were
Cinderella III and
Open Season. Eckered and Best Buy near me won't have any OOP DVDs I'm looking for because they only opened less than two years ago.

The top 2 OOP ones I'm looking for are:
-
Cinderella II (I'm a completist)
-TLM 2 (read what I said before for C2)
