It was before your time, Panfan. Kermit the Frog used to appear regularly up until...the early 90s I think. Then he was used very sparingly until 2001, when the Muppets were bought another company (before Disney bought them), thus ending his time on the Street.

Anyone remember "retired" muppet characters like the Twiddlebugs, Herry, Mumford the Magician, Alice Snuffleupagus, Barkley, Bruno, and Forgetful Jones? Or human characters like Mr. Hooper, David, Susan, Linda, and Olivia?

So if anyone calls, you know where to reach me. Love, Big Bird." And here is the family that he left, the Dodos.
Daddy Dodo: Oh, are we on television?
Kermit the Frog: Um, yes, you are.
Mommy Dodo: Let's go inside and watch!
Kermit the Frog: Uh, who'd run away from a family like that?

Herry is retired?!?!?! And Alice?!?!?!? AND BARKLEY!?!?!?!?!? I <3 Barkley!!! I know about Mr. Hooper (because, um, he died...), but those live-action characters, too? I mean, the live-action characters are kind of understandable, but why would those Muppets be retired?!?!?!?!
