Yeah, if the film is great, they could call it "The Adventures of Captain Fudge-sickle", for all I care.

Okay, I am very much bothered by this supposed title change. I was bothered when they changed Rapunzel to Tangled, but generic one-word titles always tend to bother me. But Frozen??? That has to be the stupidest, most creatively-bereft title for a film I have ever heard! If they actually go through with this title, I will seriously consider sitting this one out. I'd be that angry. I'm really starting to despise contemporary pop culture.

But, wasn't there another movie called Frozen or is the title not decided yet? Why can they just call it Snowflake? I mean, in the story of Snow Queen, Kay's eyes got splinters from snowflakes.

Thats a REALLY good idea. Wow. So much better than what Disney managed to come up with. Snowflake would have -almost- everyone happy. Marketing gets their tacky one word title, and at least we get something central to the storyline in the title (besides it being cold.. and.. frozen.. i guess).

'Snowflake' sounds too 'girly'; wouldn't drive boys to the theaters. 'Frozen' is more gender neutral. :P

Why would that be stupid? Most of Disney's adaptations used the same name as the source?

Personally, I think "Frozen" is even worse than "Tangled" because at least "Tangled" supposedly describes Flynn's and Rapunzel's relationship. What does "Frozen" have to do with anything to do with TSQ other than the setting? I'm glad so many people could care less, but, personally, I think a film's title does matter. I really don't think there'll be anything endearing about a film called "Frozen" 50 years from now.

It describes the Snow Queen's "frozen" heart. :P

Oh.....good point. Well, I hope the title Frozen isn't copyright infridgement since there was another movie called Frozen.

But I don't want it to be titled 'Frozen'! I want it to stay as 'Snow Queen'!!!!!

Just because the title changed "helped" 'Tangled' doesn't mean that different titles should be Disney's answer for everything!!! :(

Didn't stop Tangled: http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=tangled . . . there's a ton of "Frozen" titles already as well.

All these title changes are utterly idiotic; especially when they don't correspond with the atmosphere and the story of the actual film.

That actually makes quite a bit of sense.

In any case, we are getting worked up needlessly here. Nothing has actually been officially announced and there is no use talking about how much Disney sucks. Even if the title is true, as previously mentioned, it could easily change d before the film is released which will be a long time to come.

Duh, even I got that. Frozen actually says a LOT more than Tangled. Tangled was about hair?... and their relationship? how exactly?

Ah! Let me give it a go. The word "tangled" works on a multiplicity of levels. Rapunzel's "tangled" hair becomes a metaphor for her "tangled" life as she was stolen from her true family. Rapunzel's emotions were "tangled" as she was divided between her desire to be free, her own fears, and the obligation she felt to obey her mother. Rapunzel's life got "tangled" up with Flynn's life when they went on a "tangled" adventure with many ups and downs. Through this "tangled" journey, they manged to get "un-tangled" as they both discovered themselves and where they belonged.

Is that good enough for you? :P

Yes that'll do thanks

Anyway, I like Frozen. A Lot.

It tells us something about the world they live in and it's a metaphor for the Snow Queen's frozen heart. It works for me, why is this such an apocalypse for some people?

Pretend I'm a marketing employee at the studio.

"Rapunzel is too girly. Let's change the name so it's gender-neutral, and advertise this thing to be an action adventure so boys will come too. We'll see how that works."

(Tangled becomes the most successful Disney film in quite some time)

"See what a good decision that was?! I'm a genius. What's that? You guys are developing a story about the Snow Queen now? The hell you are... we're changing the name to something simple and generic. It worked with Tangled, and we're not about to fix something that's not broken."

I'm not saying that Snow Queen would be a stupid name.. I think that's what it should be called. But to actually think that it will get named that after the events and success of Tangled is simply wishful thinking.

"Apocalypse" is overexaggerating--except maybe for DJ--it's just the title's stupid. But I’m glad you like it. :)

"Frozen"? Ewwwww. It doesn't sound endearing at all or even interesting. I wasn't happy with the name change for Tangled, but at least that one grew on me. I have a feeling that "Frozen" won't. It should be something with "ice" or "snow" or even "frost" in the title. Ooo, they should name it "Icy" and have a tie-in Icee flavor!

I totally called it! Almost. But this is what I said last year when Tangled was a success.

It could have any name, but I (at the risk of sounding stubborn) really wanted 2D! Tangled was very good, but the humor in it was a little too young. I really want old-school again.
