Thanks, atlanticaunderthesea- I appreciate it! I looked yesterday, and just couldn't find anything. :( And it's not that I don't want to watch the films, but I think their production stories are more interesting (but I feel that way about any Disney movie, no matter how much I love the films)...but I know that Disney Channel sometimes plays them, so eventually I'll see them!

Since I don't have the movies, can somebody post pics to compare Tink's face to the one in the deleted scenes and trailer.

ajmrowland, you can still see the original face on some merchandise. Here's how you can tell merch made before Lasseter's overhaul vs. merch designed since the film was finalized:
1. Queen Clarion is much more ethereal now.
2. Iridessa used to have a bare mid-drift, and her outfit was a paler yellow.
3. Tink's eyes are an unusual shape for her, almost an almond, with sharper features than she is supposed to have in the older merch.
4. The pixie dust tree now looks like a normal tree with some golden sparkles, but it used to be an unusually shaped purple thing with pink leaves.

If you wanna see the old Tink face, the surest bet is to look at merch that has the pink/purple Pixie Dust tree. I believe the notebook they have on Disney Movie Rewards may be from that time.

You're right about tink's eyes. I'll have to see about the others.

Your right about everything. I was wondering why the tree in the teaser on TLM PE wasn't in the movie. Well, sometimes it's fascinating to find evidence of what might've been.

Oh, and also, Fairy Mary used to wear purple. But I don't think she was on any merch that I've ever seen in her old outfit.

Anyway, the whole thing with the old film was that Tink and all four of her friends were new fairies, and were all coming into themselves and learning about their powers. So, it wasn't about Tink really, since all of the girls had their own focus, making the story feel really loose and schizophrenic. So, they decided it would be better if only Tink was new and unsure, and her friends became more experienced fairies.

It would have been nice to see more of the friends, but I'm pretty glad they changed it. I've heard the old version was just plain bad. And, judging from the deleted scenes on the DVD, it wasn't as aesthetically pleasing, either.

Click here! God, it looked awful! And I think Amy thought Lizzy was the girl in that preview!

I think that's the wrong video- that's a Halloween video with dolls...:(

And the original Tinker Bell teaser trailer that had the little girl in it- that was from the old version? I can't find it online, but it's on...maybe the Little Mermaid DVD? And that's not the same little girl as the one in the recent picture?

I'd love to see side-by-side comparisons of old designs vs. new...I'm needy, I guess. :p

*edit*
You're right- they're not the same girl:

Okay, I found the teaser trailer, but it doesn't show Tink close-up or anything:

I think I found comparison pics:

Right?

Although the girl in the original/scrapped version teaser trailer does not look like the girl who catches Tink in "The Great Fairy Rescue", I think it looks very much like Wendy in "Tinkerbell". What do you think?

The Girl in the first Teaser on TLM DVD was Wendy.

Well, the character design is almost identical but was there official confirmation of this? I thought that girl in the teaser remained unnamed.

WENDY is in Tinker Bell?!? Wendy, as in the girl we know and love from Peter Pan?!? As in, she met Tinker Bell before Peter Pan took place?!? Someone PLEASE explain!!!

No, you're right!

Corrected, Amy! And yes, Wendy and probably Michael were in 'Tinker Bell'!

Are you being serious or sarcastic? It's hard to tell. :?

Haven't you watched the movie yet? It's been out since 2008. Anw, yes Wendy makes a cameo at the end of "Tinkerbell" and therefore suggests that Tinkerbell met Wendy (but Wendy didn't see Tink) when she was little, way before Wendy met Peter.

Michael? What do you mean? I didn't see him at all in the movie. :? :?

But we do hear the voice of Mary Darling, Wendy's mother.

How much of the original version got made!?!? Maybe I read about it a long time ago, but my memory is awful...

If I wasn't told that those screencaps are of Wendy Darling, I never would have guessed that that's her. How do you all feel about how she looks in CG?!?

And, thanks SOOO much, Old Fish Tale, for the video! I think that I've seen the English version a while ago... As someone who hasn't seen the movies, though, I guess it doesn't mean much, since they look similar to me, and I'm not familiar with what goes on in the film to know the difference between that trailer and the actual film.

And, nope, I wasn't being sarcastic- I just haven't seen the films...but since Wendy didn't see Tink, then I guess it's okay. :)

Thanks so much for your help! Maybe I just need to watch the films for myself...

The baby that laughs in the beginning.

And yeah, it might not have been confirmed to be Wendy in the teaser, but I think it's a given with the identical design and all.

I didn't want to bump a Disney Fairies thread that's been dormant since 2006 just for this small tidbit, so it can go here:

That's why I referred to her as "a cameo you may or may not know about." I didn't want to ruin the surprise. But no, she didn't meet Tink. Tink passes by her window and returns something that she had lost to her, but Wendy never sees her.

And by the way, that baby is NOT Michael. Wendy has the nursery all to herself, as we can see because there's only one bed. Sure, maybe John's been born already, but he'd be just a baby, so George and Mary would probably want to keep his crib closer to them (or to Nana). But no, there is no Michael yet. Wendy's probably only Michael's age from Peter Pan in Tinker Bell, and their age difference makes it impossible for him to have been born.

Assuming she was 17 in Peter Pan.
