Did anybody buy the POTC Blu Ray Trilogy? And if you did, did you get the correct double point code (750 points)? I read on another board of yet another Disney screwup in this program. They got the trilogy & got a code in Black Pearl which worked & in AWE (which worked for next week's HSM2 release). That works out to 250 points instead of the 375 pointer (doubled the first week). I'm very interested if anybody got one & if they got the right code.

I bought it and it too was screwed up, the double points was the main reason I went out and bought it today. I sent them an email about it, so hopefully they fix it.

You are the third person I've read now that got no trilogy code. The other two got a code in Black Pearl & one in AWE.

Well, so much for the help
Dear Jerolyn,

We are not sorry to hear that your Disney DVD or Blu-ray disc is missing a Magic Code insert. In fact, we could care less about your missing code. Many of our current titles qualify for Disney Movie Rewards points; to see if your title qualifies, you may view our current title list and eligibility dates by checking the "Eligible Titles" page at www.disneymovierewards.com.

If your title is eligible for Disney Movie Rewards points and purchased on or after the date the title became eligible, you may request Disney Movie Rewards points for that title.

We will be happy to assist you with your point redemption. As we have recently added many Disney favorites, please know that all titles require a receipt in addition to the proof of purchase for submission approval.

Okay..are you serious thats what you got...because If it were me that got that letter..i'd be calling DMR or Disney themselves because that is a direct insult.....what nerve..

Perhaps there is a disgruntled employee at DMR? :P

I think jrboy added the italicized parts in simply to show what their real attitude is. It's a form letter response anyway, so they probably didn't even think to look into why the POTC trilogy Blu-Ray has the wrong code points in it.

I'm waiting for it to be a DMR rewards, and like you, I'm not joining DMC just for that (though the DMC-exclusive 5-disc set for National Treasure is something I wouldn't mind having either.)

Of course, I'd rather just import the Brazilian edition as it (and all the other international releases) has the 25-minute "lost and found" footage, which the DMC version doesn't have (it gets bonus cartoons...). But that's not gonna happen for awhile, so I'll have to wait for DMR to come through for me.

Pirates of the Caribbean BD Trilogy Set does not include a seperate "trilogy" insert for the box set, it contains the individual releases from the franchise each containing it's own Magic Code insert.

Thanks for the response, Escapay! I don't understand Disney's thinking in releasing a DVD in Brazil but not the U.S.

The Sleeping Beauty sweepstakes sucks :x but there were worse sweestakes, and all of the prizes are about Sleeping Beauty (Unlike the Enchanted and Ariel's Beginning sweepstakes that didn't had anything to do with the films).

No problem. 8)
mhinrichs wrote:I don't understand Disney's thinking in releasing a DVD in Brazil but not the U.S.
It was planned to be released in the US back in 2002, under the Gold Collection banner (Amazon still has the page for it, which shows the cover art). However, Disney suddenly decided to cancel the US/Canada release, although it was released everywhere else.

For many R1 people who don't have a multi-region DVD player, the Brazilian release is the best as it's R1/R4, and while the case and disc art have Portuguese, the disc itself starts with a menu prompt that allows you to pick English menus, subtitles, soundtrack, etc. That's why the Brazilian release is ideal for most R1ers. Unfortunately, I've never had the chance to import it yet, though I plan to if the US release (in the DMC) doesn't get revisited in a better edition.

If you want the Brazilian DVD, you can buy it from the Amazon Marketplace, which has a page for it.

Anybody experiencing slow shipping from DMR lately?

I ordered Treasure of Metacumbe a few weeks ago and I still haven't received a shipment confirmation e-mail. When I ordered Ducktales, it came fairly quickly.

I finally picked up 101 Dalmatians and 102 Dalmatians today. When I tried to enter the codes, I was told neither of them were valid. I know there is an occasional code that doesn't work for whatever reason, but both of them? Has anyone else run into problems with the codes for these movies?

I have had a similar problem with my National Treasure DVD. I still did not get a solution to the problem.

I've been hearing a lot of stories from members here having their codes returned as "invalid". I had that happen once a while back with the National Treasure: Collectors Edition, but haven't had any problems since. Make sure you contact DMR so you can still get your points.

I ran into the same problem with my Ratatouille BD. When I contacted Disney, they wanted the proof of purchase tab from the back cover, and that's something I refuse to give them. Cutting it out makes the artwork look ugly. I decided to let it pass since I got the BD free as part of a special Blu-Ray deal Wal-Mart had around Father's Day. Plus, I redeemed points for my theatrical viewing of Ratatouille as well as the DVD, so at least I got points for the times I actually spent money on the movie.

I'm rather annoyed right now. Did anyone else get an e-mail from Disney Movie Rewards in celebration of their 2 year anniversary. They are offering 50 bonus points per code (up to 200 bonus points) on every code entered, not through October 6th. Well, I just bought 101 Dalmatians and already redeemed the code, and the next movie purchase I plan to make is Sleeping Beauty on October 7th. So, I'm a little annoyed that I won't be able to take advantage of this offer.

Just to follow up, as I was filling out the information to send in for replacement codes, I decided one last time to check mine and see if they possibly would work.

Surprise, Surprise, they did! I have no idea why they work now and they didn't on Friday...but because of that, I got the 50 bonus pts on each of them for entering them during the promotion! :D

I just redeemed my points for a Walt Disney Studios baseball cap. It was between that or the TLM poster. As much as I love TLM, I opted for the cap.
