One thing that could be a factor as to why Harry can't leave the Dursley's is because of what Dumbledore does at the beggining of book 1. He puts out the lights on the street. Now, you maybe saying he put them out so no one would see McGonagall or Hagrid. YEAH RIGHT! No ones gonna notice an extremely loud flying motor-cycle? It's just something to think about.

Dumbledore: I'll save you!

Dumbledore: If you strike me down I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.
(Voldemort kills Dumbledore. Dumbledore dissapears)
Harry: NO!!!!!!!!!Wait....how come Dumbledore dissapeared but some wizards don't?

Have you read book 5, They tell you why he cant leave the Dursleys in it

I made a list of some people that could possibly die and some that cant

People That might Die in the series
Hagrid: After Sirius this is the guy that is like really important to Harry and worries about him and protects him like a son... also if they killed him off it wuould add more to the story about his anger and might make him more powerful..
^ I hope he soesnt die... hes my fav chracter
Ron: Like I said earlier I think that he is going to go evil... i think he is really jealous of Harry and it drives him insane... He could possibly die in the lat one during a fight.
Dumbledore: At the end of the last he might
Nevil: this chracter may be the half blood prince.. plus hes becoming more important... ppl think he will die.
Harry: After The Fight
Professor Lupin: He Understands How Harry feels (look at 3rd book) Voldy might kill him.

People That might get hurt
Hagrid: He may not die but he might get hurt very badly.
Hermione: I think it will be like Star Wars with Padme she will just be shocked... alll this stuff has happen and she has to watch it....
Harry: During the fight w/ Voldermort

People That Will Survive
Hermione: Shes way too important
Harry: This Kid is really hard to predict 50/50

I think the last book will just be the ending... I dont think that there will be the Durseys durin the 7th.. idk aunt Petunia mite no more. The last book will just basically be like a lst chapter... its going to end everything... I think alot of the book will focous on the friendship of Harry and Ron.... It will also face who Hermione likes harry or ron.... I think alot of the Ministry of Magic will die during the fight... Overall the book will be very dark but the ending will be happy imo. I think Rowling wants to end it where everything is ansewrerd and throw more surprises in. All I can say is I cant wait for this book.

His twin sister, Hermione?

The "ledgend" holds that they can not survive while the other one lives, it says that in book 5. Therefore, one or both have to die. JKR has said in an interview that not all stories have a happy ending. I do think "he who must not be named" will die, but I think Harry will also die defeating him. I'll be really happy if he lives, but hey. I have a friend who thinks the entire trio (Harry, Ron, Hermoine) will die, but I don't think so.

I have a feeling that Ron and Hermione will probably survive through all the books.

Yeah, basically. If they do survive and get married, J.K Rowling could start writing a series of books about their romance/marriage. It would probably bore some readers, though, particularly the young.

JKR said that after she finishes Harry Potter she will be writing romance novels and that she is not interested in doing anymore Harry Potter type books right now.

Harry: Oh, and Governer Malfoy, I could have expected you holding Weasley's leash, I recognized your foul stench when I was brought on board.
Draco: Why are you using an English accent? You haven't used it in any other scene?
(Harry and Ron duel)
Harry: I will not fight you friend.
Ron: If you will not fight, you will meet your destiny.
(Ron throws wand and Harry. Harry somehow dodges)
Voldemort: Good! Gooooooood!
Ron: I'm going to destroy your freinds, especially your....sister! So yo have a twin sister! If you will not give into evil, then mabey she will!
Harry: Noooooooooo!
(Harry cuts off rons hand. But the cloth is still bent as if the hand is just covered up)
Voldemort: Hehehehehehehe. Your hate has made you powerful, not take your X-friends place at my side!
Harry: Never!
Voldemort: So be it. Good Guy.
