The Lion King. I first saw this movie in theaters when I was 5 years old, and I remember walking out of the theater jumping up and down yelling, "That was so good! Let's watch it again!" Of course, I really didn't really appreciate it for what it represented then as I do now.

As a young adult of 17 years, I too am relating to Simba's journey. I have to figure out what I want to do with my life, find out if I can actually do it and how will I be affected should I choose to follow through. At times I have trouble knowing who I am and discovering more about myself as an individual, and at times, there are so few people I can turn to for that guidance. Sometimes I feel that success is more important than being true to myself, and survival is the main priority than doing what I feel is right. Lion King makes me think of my place in the world, whether you are a leader, a follower, a fighter or a drifter, you should be true to yourself and work to find your place. It also taught me, however frightening it may be, your fears and events past must be faced in order to learn and eventually find your place in the world.

I have also found that Lion King will help me cope with death. I have always liked the idea of my loved ones watching over me after they have died, and always hoped that they could come back and tell me what I am doing wrong, or how I can succeed without failure, although it is a slim possibility of it happening.

On top of the magestic message portrayed, Lion King has comedy, amazing music, wonderful voice actors, tearful moments (I cry at Mufasa's death, too), good plot (Bambi yes, but others as well), and beautiful animation, all wrapped up in one heart warming package.

Lion King took chances, and I thought they were very successful. I love this movie, and it has been my favorite Disney movie since I first walked out of that very theater and no movie has ever come close, Disney or Live Action.

Has anyone heard about the Triology Set with 5 x7 inch lithographs? Are the lithographs similar to the one in the Lion King Gift set? Just wondering.

Actually, Simba has a daughter, Kiara.

I really enjoyed the Lion King ("Hamlet") and I really enjoyed the sequal, Simba's Pride ("Romeo and Juliet").

I love the animation, I love the music, I love Jeremy Irons and James Earl Jones, I love the story... I just love it.

this film touches my heart, bigstyle and jus has me wanting more, I love the characters, the structure and even if theres anything i could hate about it I love it because its in the Lion King, this film touches me deeply and i to cry, its a film that will never grow old

It's my favorite Disney movie, and my third favorite animated movie of all time, period. I love the music, and Scar is my all-time fave Disney villain. I don't think I've ever seen a Disney movie come together this perfectly.

BINGO!!! The Lion King was great. It was the first film I ever saw at the theaters! It didn't become my favorite thought until 2003(when the platinum came out!) I loved it! Scar is the greatest Disney villian EVER!!! But my favorite characters were Timon and Pumbaa! Plus it had incredible animation and a cool storyline based on Hamlet! Overall a great film! I really think it deserves to be the biggest grossing animated movie of all time more than Nemo or Shrek! Not only is it my favorite animated movie, it's one of my favorite movies of all time! 10/10

The Lion King was the first Disney movie that I've seen in theaters.

It's my 2nd favorite Disney film and probably my fourth or fifth favorite movie of all time.

Do you realize that there is actually a study saying that there are only like 7 plots out there, but they just keep getting reused and refined so they seem different?

And no wonder! Because like it said in the Lion King extra on the DVD, those are the stories that still have an affect on audiences to this day!

I guess it sort of related to this because a lot of people are bringing up Bambi and Kimba. I just thought it was an interesting tidbit.

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble but this is not one of those things, people only say that because of it's "box-office success", i just don't like this movie man! It's sooo overrated and it never had an impact on me, although "Beauty and The Beast" did, this is not the omega and alpha of disney movies people! there's plenty of other better disney movies than this such as "Emperor's New Groove", "Mulan", "Aladdin", "Sleeping Beauty", "Beauty and The Beast", and others.

*Runs away so TLK fans doesn't kill me*

I couldn't agree with you more. I'm sure people just liked it because it had big songs (a little too big, noisy, a little annoying!), cute animals, beautiful artwork / colors (that I'll give to it's credit), was fast-paced, had a lot of jokes (most were inappropriate for families - when has farting really been funny?), and had some action in it - harkening back to the loud/big/noisy factor. It wasn't really that good, at all. And the last thing on Earth it was, was magical.

This is one of my favorite Disney Films of all time. It would be in my top 5. But to each their own.
