I just got "Starring Chip N' Dale" and I am very satisfied. I wish they would release a treasures set of them. As for picking up the others, I haven't fully decided yet. But I am leaning more towards buying them. I know I already own the cartoons on the treasures set, but I like having compilations.

I haven't bought any yet but I might pick them all up. I'm going to get Chip 'n Dale for sure but the other three will be nice even if I own the Treasures sets. I like compilations too and they'll cater to my collectable side. Plus too many people ask to borrow Treasures just for a few cartoons and not the whole package so to satisfy their needs I can just let them borrow these DVDs. :)

One thing I did notice about the Chip and Dale set was that it wasn't remastered at all. The restoration on the Mickey, Goofy, and Donald shorts on the Treasures sets are so very much apparent when I watched the Chip and Dale disc.

Hopefully, they will be restored as well before being put on a Treasures set.

About the Chip 'n Dale disc Jack wrote:...The image on all the shorts is overly soft and quite dirty. Some of them almost look comparable to VHS quality....
That is good to know cus from downsized captures is hard to see that. (They just look a little contrasty on my monitor, probably cus they seem to be made from prints but otherwise they look fine on the captures) Maybe conversions from the PAL masters used on the R2 double discs?

I do have a criticism on the review :P To read white text over yellow backgrounds ;) it was easier if I highlighted it :)

About the Goofy disc in specific, I'm curious. Since these are probably the same video masters used for the Treasure and the the disc runs 63minutes, do you notice any less noise or more clarity on these shorts when compared to the ones in the Treasure? (Another way to check if they used different or less compression would be to compare the size of the individual shorts' video files in the two editions..)

As you might know, it has been pointed out already earlier in this thread (and possibly in others) why there should not be a "C&D Treasure". But we'll wait and see.

I had origionally planned to buy all of the treasures, but I have recently deecided against it, they are just to expensive for me. It is either I buy less dvds and buy those overpriced treasures, or I buy these cheaper dvds. I bought these 4 dvds and havn't recieved them yet in the mail, but I can't wait to.

You may have reason not to buy the Treasures, but I strongly disagree about using the word "overpriced"...

What do you think of the new Chip and Dale DVD?

I wish they could have released all of them on this one. I know there's only a few actual Chip and Dale shorts devoted completley to them. How many of them are on this DVD?

All in All, I love the little guy's. Hope there's more in the vault?

Here are my favs on this DVD.

Two Chips and a Miss

Food for Fuelin

Dragon Around

Chip 'an Dale

I'm just so sad :( . I was expected this releases for a long time. Wanted to show this to my son... Disapointing NO FRENCH language track...

Hope they'll do better in the next wave...

I don't quite see your problem. In my opinion, the appeal of these films hardly depends on whether you understand the language or not.

Is Disney planning to release any more in this series or is it going to stay at 12 volumes?

My local Toys R Us just go them all in except for the two holiday ones as it isn't Christmas. I already have Volumes 8 and 9 (holiday ones) and I just picked up Volume 1 and 2.

I don't know for sure, but my guess would be that they're done with the line. There's also the Funny Factory line, too, and that hasn't had any more releases after the initial 4. And the It's a Small World of Fun line hasn't had any new releases.

I think, as far as the Classic Cartoons Favorites goes, it was made to highlight some of the favorite classic Disney cartoons, which it did. They're not the Walt Disney Treasures- they're not supposed to have every cartoon on them. I really can't see them doing much more with the line; I enjoy the line and I have them all, but I just can't see what other volumes they'd create. They have volumes for all the main (classic) characters already. Unless they made a Halloween-themed disc- that would be really cool, actually. Or other holiday-themed ones (Easter, Thanksgiving, etc.) would work if there are enough cartoons featuring those characters on holidays.
