If my calculations are correct, this should start page 4 of the chat...
Well that's all I wanted to say

...
OK, OK I realize a lot of people would be annoyed if I devoted a whole post to that, so... Before I state anything on the matter PA u diddn't vote on the revisionist film making thread... or 2099net diddn't... Oh well

.
What's this topic about again? Hold on...
Oh, Ok, well what more can be said, nothing about Mouring Report, I think the topic has been sucked dry. It seems the conversation has moved else where, to the topic of new scenes. Can someone tell me a little about this "If I never Knew You" thing. I first thought it would be one way, than heard something that made me think it was entirely different...
Well, we will probably see it in next years SE! Whoo- Hoo, and probably in the movie, as it is "Special Edition", but if not it doesn't matter.

Hmm, singing Simba doesn't sound like Jason Weaver. Ok, Jason will be about 24 on July 18. Simba sounds like he's singing of key. Compare the English singing voice to the French Simba and Scott Irby-Ranniar from the Original Broadway Cast.
Zazu doesn't sound like Rowan Atkinson nor Edward Hibbert. Ick.
Simba has a high pitch voice. I thought a girl was singing. lol. He's hitting some really high notes around B5, 987 Hz.
You know what I think, after listening to that awful number a few times over? I think Zazu and Simba are "stock" VAs; Zazu sounds an
awful lot like Jeff Bennett, and Simba sounds female - my guess is Tress MacNeille.
If this is true - yeesh. Talk about going even more half-assed on a "new scene". In addition to a pointless revision and mediocre animation, they probably didn't even bother to match the voices - "Let's just catch Jeff on a free day!"

Simba sounds like a 12 year old boy singing notes above B5. He actually sounds a little my friend's grandson, Wesley. Scott Irby-Ranniar also hits the same notes when he sings The Morning Report.
We'll find out in October when we see the official credits. I wonder if the Special Edition will have its own credit screen.
Tress MacNeille is the voice of Daisy Duck and Charlotte Pickles. Hmm.
Looks like I'm the only person who likes the "Morning Report."
Later everyone.

How is that
possible!?! How can a disney character and a nickelodeon character be voiced by the same person!?!?!?!?!?! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! It's just not right! It's blasphamy, I tell you, BLASPHAMY!
(

Uh, could someone please PM me the meaning of Blasphamy...)

Blasphemey bascially means that voice actors need a lot of work in order to make a living, so they do voices for mutiple shows and companies.

Good news: it actually IS 1.66:1! Well, technically it's like 1.69:1, but well, it's not matted down to 1.85:1 like Beauty and the Beast.

Thanks for the news Luke. I wonder if I'll see black bars when I watch it on my widescreen plasma TV. Hmm. Watching the Morning Report on a plasma screen and 6.1 Dolby Digital Ex sound system will be interesting. I'll check out the DVD credits to see who singing Simba and Zazu are.

No, but I was e-mailed a screen capture from the Morning Report, which was windowboxed to that ratio. So unless JUST that sequence is 1.66:1ish, the movie should be properly displayed.
I WISH I had my hands already on the LK DVD!

I watched the Morning Report video a dozen times. I think that Zazu's voice in the new "Morning Report" does sound like Rowan Atkinson / Jonny English. I'll need to view to DVD credits to be sure.
I have too much free time on my hands.

Well, if it is Rowan -
shame, Mr. Bean!!
And that making-of clip that they have on the dvd's site showed that Simba's voice is done by some new boy - an Asian kid I haven't seen before. I'm amazed at the idea of Disney searching for new blood for this small role, as opposed to just getting one of their contracted Disney Channel kids to do it (ahem - "Circle of Stars", anyone?

).
