What a great thread! Seems as though Loomis was replying to that thread almost every other post!
I'd feel bad that I was replying so much, but you just admitted to re-reading the whole 11 pages. Who is more wacky - the fool, or the fool who re-reads the wackiness ?
The answer is the fool who created the wackiness...and since you were posting more than me in that thread, you are the fool who created the wackiness!
Sekaino Jasmine, are you really going to make another thread? That'd be fun! And educational!
...okay maybe not so much educational...

Thank you all (both of you!).
Having won the Most Amusing Posts of the Year Thread, there is some pressure to be amusing in my acceptance speech. PLus, I wasn't nominated for Most Intelligent, so excuse me if this speech comes off as less than intelligent. So I've taken the pressure off and taken a leaf out of another winner's book:
"I have invited my fellow amusing nominees on the stage with me, and I would like to — they're here in solidarity with me because we like humour. We like humour and we live in serious times.
We live in the time where you have hilarious election results that elects a piss funny president. We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for unfunny reasons. Whether it's the humour of pretzels or humour of not knowing how to spell we are against you, Mr. Bush.
Shame on you, Mr. Bush, shame on you. And any time you got the Pope, Loomis and the Dixie Chicks against you, your time is up.
Thank you very much."
Thanks to everyone who voted for me.
It is kinda sweet (unless, of course, by Most Amusing you mean you are laughing at me and not with me).
So pass the celebratory drinks - this round is on me.

Congratulations, Luke!

Time for your acceptance speech
I hate to keep you all on the edge of your seats, but I'm heading out to Walt Disney World, so this will have to pause until I get back, at which time I'll announce the rest of the awards (and hopefully catch up on the board, on the whole, as I haven't posted much lately- this vacation is gonna be killer for my message boarding!

Congrats, Netty! Acceptance speech time.
Throughout my life I've won awards for intelligence. Over the past few years alone I been winner on The Krypton Factor, Brain of Britain, The Vault, Mastermind, Wipeout, The "All-New" Sale of the Century, Who Want to be a Millionaire, Countdown, Richard and Judy's "You see it, we say it", In it to Win It, The National Lottery Jet Set and, last but not least, Blankety Blank.
[holds award up, and voice starts to break into emotion]
But this is what really matters! This is an award voted by the people for the people!
[cries, making high-pitched sobbing noises. Waves hand limply in front of face a few times before running off stage]
Don't look at me! Don't look at me!

After over 30 total hours on the road, 4 theme parks, lots of cash, and 500 pictures, I have returned from my big family vacation of Walt Disney World and other areas of Florida. It was a lot of fun, but I'm also glad to be back. Sorry to have kept everyone in such suspense for so long

, but I'm now ready to announce the next award!
Friendliest / Kindest Member
And the winner is...
awallaceUNC
Thanks to everyone who voted for me. I guess an appropriate acceptance speech for this particular award should contain lots of emoticons

. I am honored, and happy to see that you think I'm nice (ha! If you
really knew me... JUST kidding!).

You're all too kind

(and apparently, so am I

)

. Thanks.
And now I begin the long, but not-so-painful process of catching up on the board.
Tomorrow, I'll announce the Special Award and its recipient.

From a Doris Day film?
Congrats, awallaceUNC.
It is quite fitting that the person who arranged this whole mutual admiration thing got the friendliest/kindest member nod.
As an award I know I will never win (although I think I may have been nominated! I'm mean though!), it must be an honour.
Special Award! Are you naming it after anyone? e.g. The Ernest Rister Memorial Award?
