Yes that has already been announced for October of 2005. Can't wait for that Platinum I have always loved the Origional Cinderella what a great movie. I loved Ursula and Drizella. And not to get off the subject but I can't wait to see the New Cinderella Story starring- Teenage Hearthrob Hillary Duff.

We reported that it's coming in 2005 nearly two months ago:

The cover art is a new story. Thanks for posting!
Merging with old discussion.

Holy crap ghost999, thanks for the link! I'll repost MousePLanet's story here:
Although various release schedules show Cinderella as not being available until 2007, work seems to be well underway on the project. MousePlanet reader Ryan O. found himself staring at five potential DVD covers during a recent online Disney survey. Either Disney works on product covers three years in advance, or the DVD is being released sooner than 2007. Could it be possible that Disney has moved the release date forward by a bit so that the DVD could be released during Disneyland's 18-month 50th anniversary window?
We already know that info's wrong and that it's scheduled for next October. BTW, here's those cover arts the story speaks of:
I'm surprised we're seeing this stuff so early and have not heard or seen anything for Bambi yet. If any of this is legit, I gotta say, Looks good! I like what I see!

Nice covers.. I like the one with the glass slipper underneath the title best!

Ummm...maybe they will grow on me, but I don't like those covers, especially compared to the amazing artwork that has been created for the previous releases of Cinderella on other formats.
Compare that to the original Black Diamond cover found on <a href=
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 33324&rd=1 target=blank>this ebay auction</a> and the Masterpiece Collection cover from 1995, which is my personal favorite:
I don't like the big heads, and the first cover where they're not big heads is just kind of dull. If I have to take one of those five, probably the one with the slipper underneath the title is the best -- but it's just so darn big. And why isn't the Fairy Godmother on any of these?
Eh well. I know perfectly well that I'll buy it anyway.

My vote goes to the one with the Glass Slipper underneath the title also.

Wow! Thanks ghost, yoda, and mouseplanet! They all look great. I like the third and fourth ones the best. I like the carriage flying down, the mice, Lucifer and glass slipper art. I wish they could somehow incorparate all of them on the cover. The last one looks like the cover for a storybook. Isn't the first cover the bootleg DVD art?
If it has to only be one of the posted five I would vote for the 4th one. The one in the e-bay link is the one we have, which I think is the very first VHS we ever got. I think it is an odd choice to put as cover art.

I agree. I would have to choose the one with the glass-slipper underneath or even the thirrd with the carriage. The first I find ugly, and the fifth isn't so great either, what with Cinderelly's big head!
I don't know why the Fairy Godmother is missing, but then if that's a problem, then where are the evil mother and step-sisters. You ca't always get what you want! Why is Cogsworth missing from the cover of BATB?
I think the 4th is the best, and I love how Disney is staying with the centered-boxed title format. I love it! Great to see "Platinum Edition" is on them as well. I'd say these are just as good as the final Sleeping Beauty cover.

I didn't like that cover. The one before this, the French version, or the final cover art for the widescreen VHS look better. I think our version had too much detail and Aurora looked more like Barbie with collagen and Prince Philip looked too flat. The bottom half was pretty awesome though.

You know, appart from the somewhat garish colors (which I suspect is from the pic files themselves and not the actual covers), I generally like them, but perhaps I'm biased simply because it's Cinderella. Am I the only one that actually likes the last one? I think it's because it reminds me of the Snow White cover. Anyway, I also really like the 3rd and 4th ones, too, though the slipper on the 4th one REALLY needs to shrink down. The second one feels sort of random with Cinderella being on the top AND bottom, and the first one is simply the 80's reissue poster with a platinum banner slapped onto it. Either way, bring me this DVD a.s.a.p.!

The general idea of these covers is good, but they all need a little bit of tweaking. I like all of them except for the first one. The cover absolutely must feature:
Cinderella
The Fairy Godmother
Lady Tremaine
Jaque
Gus
All the others (Prince Charming, the other mice, the birds, Drizella, Ursuala, the King, etc.) are all optional. It's important to keep up the Platinum pattern here, which means Cinderella along should be the focus of the cover (which was the case for the first 3), the 'side-kicks,' so to speak, should be in the corner (which has been the case in all of them), and the villain must appear in the corner (which has been the case with all but BATB).
We know the covers will change, but I like what I'm seeing so far.

I definitely think that the fourth one is the best. The only thing it needs is to get rid of Sally and the other mouse, add the fairy Godmother, shrink the shoe on the pillow, and add Lady Trumane. It is weird that we are seeing these covers before the Bambi covers. This should then almost gurantee that the Bambi cover is almost finalized by now. Overall, I think they are looking great with the blue background and the continued centered title.
On a side note, I thought the stepsisters names were Anastacia and Drizella. Never heard of Ursuala.

Yeah, it's Anastacia. Don't know
what I was thinking- maybe I'm losing it.

DreamerQ18, you can also see them (with a little color change) at the Disney Database right
