I'm 21 and I think the 80s is the worst decade for music ever. Period.

Well, judging by the music that you list on your MySpace page, your taste in music is far from enjoying the GREAT music from the 80's. However, you do list a few acts that had music in the 80's. At any rate, you might think the 80's is the worst decade for music, but, you would be WRONG!

wow lol you may be the first person over 20 whose told me they hate the 80s!!! Im shocked and a little hurt lol.
I just think it was such a fun era. Everything now is so blah, but man day glo clothes and crimped hair and high tops and Michael Jackson and Madonna how awesome!
I think the kids shows were better then than they are now.....if I had to return to any point in time Id either take the 80s or the 40's (just cause I like that time as well)

My birth tops the list. End of story. Even if it was March 1st 1989, it was still the best part of the 80s. Period.

My favorite favorite movie from the 80s is The Big Chill.

And with the sole exception of Donna Summer, I agree with you. Oh, actually the Bee Gees have 2 disco songs I like. It's not like I like the genre, just those 2 songs.

I believe it was much more like '74 to '79. But yeah, the music still leaked out into '80 and '81.

I was born in 1988, so naturally I don't remember much of the 80s, but when I was a small kid 80's culture and especially TV shows and movies were still present, so here are my favorite 80's things:

5: The smurfs! They're so blue, so lively and so much fun!
4:Music! Some of the greatest songs that everybody knows today are from the 80s like Madonna stuff and Michael Jackson, Wham!
3:kids' shows! So much of the good stuff comes from the 80's like Fraggle Rock, Care Bears, Gummibears...., just great kids' shows!
2: TV shows: So many classics: Cosby show introduced a new era in television and who could ever forget the shower scene from Dallas? Or Joan Collins in Dynasty?
1:Movies! Star Wars, Indiana Jones, E.T., Back to the future.... So much that is pop-culture now and known by everybody was created during that weird time that some hate, some love, and that will never come back.

The 80s sure changed the world, maybe more like other decades, but there will always be some stuff that is great, and some that is not.

Yes, I we talk about truly greatest things of the 80s I'd agree that the historic changes in Europe stand out.

Raiders of the Lost Ark is a really fun, exciting movie. And I hate those kinds of adventure-hero flicks. I thought Back to the Future is overrated though.

Michael Jackson was good, I always used to love listening to him with my mom as a kid. Whitney Houston had a great voice and some really powerful singles. "How Will I Know" was a real childhood favorite. I loved Run DMC's "Rock Box." One of the best old-school rap songs. Tina Turner was one of the single greatest singers / performers of that decade. Break Every Rule was one hell of a record. I love "Paradise is Here," "Afterglow," "Girls," "I'll Be Thunder," and "Break Every Rule." As I kid, I memorized the lyrics to "Private Dancer" and I still think I know them all by heart.

Cosby Show was a truly awful '80s show that was only worth watching for the tremendous acting talents of the parents, Cosby and Phylicia Rashad. But A Different World was amazing! More than twice what Cosby Show tried to be. Especially when Whitley started growing as a character and showed more heart.
