As long as production of such series doesn't cannibalise manpower from the theatrical films, the I'm fine with it.
It's just a shame it will be difficult for me to watch any animated series WDAS produces, for two reasons. Firstly, the need to subscribe to Disney+ is off-putting to me, and it is not even available in Malta yet, anyway. (There is no word when it's coming. It's frustrating. It'll be pretty annoying if the rest of the European continent gets and we'll still be without it.

Secondly, I just don't have the time to watch series. I always go for standalone movies. I know the world is going gaga over series, but they require too much investment of my time for me to consider. So no, I have not watched
Game of Thrones, or
Breaking Bad, or
Stranger Things, or
Money Heist, and will most certainly not be watching
Squid Game.

I also tend to prefer movies over series, due to them requiring less time commitment. So you're not alone there. Of the shows you mentioned, Stranger Things is the only one I've watched in full (I've only seen the first episode of Breaking Bad and that was in a tv writing class in university).
It's actually why I prefer Disney+'s once-a-week strategy over Netflix dropping the entire season in one go. Easier to time manage them.

I know what you all mean... Im still finishing up Game of Thrones, just completed Loki, just started Falcon and Winter Soldier and I still have a long list of films, series and shorts I still need to catch up on. I've also noticed that with all this new content its caused me to watch less of the older films from my own physical library. Sometimes Ill even blind buy a film(as in a physical disc) I think Ill enjoy only to be able to watch it once. But I buy the film b/c I at least know Ill own it and it will be there for me to watch again if I ever do get the chance(which is not the case with digital media). But its been awhile since Ive been able to just rewatch older films from my collection b/c I'm too busy with all the streaming series and films. Add to that that I just dont have as much time for myself as I did back in the 90s and 2000s and yeah it can be... frustrating.

Jared Bush: We think about that a lot. I'd say that for me in this role, my number one priority is making sure that we are putting something in the theaters that people want to go see in theaters. I think the shared experience of being in an auditorium with a bunch of people laughing at the same time or crying at the same time, or being surprised at the same time is a it's a very unique experience. I have three teenage boys, and they are hungry for that shared experience. So, more than anything, it is protecting our theatrical releases to make them phenomenal movies that, globally, everybody can relate to and want to go see. In terms of Disney+, you're right. When we take a movie that's been in theaters and put it on Disney+, there's no downside, meaning it's not like, “Oh, if I hadn’t put that in theaters, it would have done better on Disney+.” There's actually almost no correlation, or if anything, it makes people want to go see it more when it goes to the service. In terms of other material, we do have short form that we look at for Disney+, but I find that for right now, making theatrical our clear focus is the best moving forward.
