It is a tough one for me, but here goes...

Fantasia: Night on Bald Mountain and a tie between Sorcerer's Apprentice and Dance of the Hours.

Fantasia 2000: Rhapsody in Blue and Pomp and Circumstance

Favourite Fantasia & Fantasia 2000 segment

I would have to say my favorite since I can remember is the Nutcracker.
I love how Hop Low can never follow the rest of the mushrooms.
He just makes me laugh everytime.

Wow. Tough topic. There are so many segments, and with such different styles and music, it's tough to choose. Every segment, other than the overly long dinosaur segment is amazing.

Fantasia Mickey has always been my favourite Mickey, so there's a large attraction to that segment. Night on Bald Mountain is just so powerful. If I had to choose just one, I'd guess I'd pick Dance of the Hours for the absolutely brilliant premise and execution.

For Fantasia 2000, I have a much easier time choosing. The segments are all still excellent, but Pines of Rome has always stood out for me. Stunning animation, some pathos, and the music that just builds and builds until the finale I find it just amazing. That segment of music is now one of my all time favourites.

Fantasia:

The Greek Mythology scene with the Pegasus, Centaurs and Cupids all in a row. :-)

Fantasia 2000:

I liked the Sprite sequence.

How often do you watch the Fantasia movies?

......lets see.....ever since last year or the year before that I haven't seen either of them. And I have them both!
I should watch them......they're both great, I think it's because they're just too long.

I haven't watched 'Fantasia' in a while since I don't have the DVD but I've seen 'Fantasia 2000' once this year so far. I forget if I posted it in that topic. Sometimes I forget to post but if I remember I do! :)

Seeing as I own neither Fantasia movie, that would be...... never. However, I do watch The Sorceror's Apprentice very often as I have it as a part of Mickey Mouse In Living Colour Volume 2. So I watch a segment of it very often

Well, it's also that unless you already like the movies a lot, I don't think casual viewers (myself included) would watch them easily.

In my case for example I'm waiting to have a really good TV; the only one I have is Fantasia 2000.

I saw the regular edition for Fantasia and tought on buying it, but after having watched (parts of it, since it was all scrathed) it rented, I''l wait for the PE since the video quality was all so grainy and with dirt.

Anyhow, for me, I have to be in the mood to watch it. And that's hardly the case.

It's a good movie, but you have to be in the right mood for it (like you said). I think because it's made entirely of music. Sitting through almost 90 minutes of these musical images requires you to be in a kind of patient mood. I find that often I NEED to hear dialogue of some sort. That's why I can't watch too many of the old Mickey Mouse shorts in a row. I usually mix them up with ones with some dialogue

P.S. on a somewhat related note, I'll be finally getting a stuffed figure of Mickey as the Sorceror's Apprentice soon. I just called my Disney store, and they have him. Yay!

Well, I don't want to brag, but I think I am probably the biggest Fantasia fan on Earth (my username says it all). I have watched Fantasia at least twice a month for the past two years.
