Disney Television Animation released a sizzle reel commemorating its 30th anniversary which included the title card and a second of test footage from The Lion Guard.

I like the design of the lead. Unfortunately I'm not pleased with the animation style of the series.

likely no kovu as kiara should [hopefully] be a cub herself, just slightly older, like vitani is. would have been between kiara and kovus first and second meetings. unless disney totally screws up the timeline.

That would make sense!

Since the focus of the show is not on Kiara I'm not too bummed out.

Lion King 2 wasn't all that great to begin with so no loss. Also, I doubt he died. That MTV article is just clickbait nonsense based on an uninformed tweet.

In that case, why is Kion nowhere to be seen in TLK2? I think I read this somewhere, but someone suggested that the best way to keep continuity intact would be to make Kion the son of Kiara and Kovu. But you know Disney...

I don't know... that article doesn't tell me anything concrete. The "Negative" was in response to the Kingdom Hearts question. The "Circle Of Life, my friend" doesn't give us a yes or no answer. It sounds more like "I can't tell you anything yet, so here's a Lion King round about answer for you to chew on."

Still no more footage outside of that one second we got? Darn, I was hoping that's why this was bumped.

will have to rewatch the film, but doesnt it cut from simba and kiara with her as a cut during the song sequence to her going on her first hunt as an adult? kion could have come into being during the intervening time. as for his whereabouts during the later half of the film... pass! LOL

Keep in mind that Lion Guard, like Lion King 2, is not canon. NONE of the direct-to-video cheapquels and movie-based TV shows are canon, because they were made by departments other than Walt Disney Animation Studios (the department that created the original films). And a general rule of thumb is that the department that creates the canon keeps the canon, so unless it gets made by the same department that made the original source material, it's not canon.

I don't get it. The movie comes out in November and we have no further footage or even a trailer yet.

Its a series, not a movie.
