Wow, how did this thread just pass me by? I will definitely be picking these up. I'm glad TLM comes out this year. I actually don't have the soundtracks for a lot of their older films, so this'll be a good time to finally get them. I don't have TLK either, so I'm glad to have it. Like others, I just wish they'd include the complete score here. This would've been the perfect opportunity to do so.
I love the artwork for TLK cover. I hope they use concept drawings for all the drawings.

EDIT: Wait, that's not concept art? Oh well, it is very nice though. From next year's lineup, the only ones I'm hesitant about getting are
Pocahontas and
Cinderella, since I already have those. I actually have 2 soundtracks for
Cinderella since they had that new release with the Diamond that included some demos.

I agree, I like the booklet style.

I got my Lion King a day early! (thank you, Amazon).
It's a nice set, though I'm not crazy about having to slide discs in and out of the package. But, honestly, I'll take them out once to put them on my iTunes and then I'll just listen to the MP3s from now on
Speaking of iTunes, when I inserted the CDs, it couldn't find any of the track info for either disc online. I thought that was weird, especially because the track info should be on the disc right? Oh well, I'll just enter everything manually.
I also really really really hope they do some more of the '90s Disney movies for this collection. I know I'm repeating myself lol but there's so much great unreleased (as far as I know) music from the likes of Aladdin, Hercules, and Mulan that I'd love to have (honestly, what's the point of releasing a soundtrack and putting all the songs, but not the complete score?).

Does it preview the cover for the next release?

They just have to expand on this collection to include more of the 90's soundtracks. It would seem strange if such a collection did not include the likes of Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Hunchback, Hercules and Mulan.

Nope, it doesn't have anything regarding the next release.

I'm actually VERY surprised that Beauty and the Beast of all movies won't be having its soundtrack represented in the Legacy Collection.

They only have plans for up until the end of next year. Maybe if these releases do well, Disney will continue beyond then, and Beauty and the Beast will have a set come out for its anniversary.

I think it's more than likely that almost all the renaissance movies will get a legacy soundtrack..
well, here is what I think:
Not likely:
-Rescuers Down under
Likely:
-Hunchback
-Mulan
-Hercules
-Tarzan
More than Likely:
-Pocahontas
Without a doubt:
-Aladdin
-Beauty and the Beast.
It pisses me off that they're not releasing Hunchback at the end of this year because the musical is opening up and they could easily make money off it. Maybe they'll release it when the musical moves on Broadway.

But the legacy is to celebrate the movies anniversaries, that's why Beauty and the Beast, for an example, isn't in the collection.

D23 members can pre-order the entire collection: Discounted price of $270 (a 10 percent savings) for all 12 album sets, plus 12 exclusive lithographs featuring art from the albums, and a commemorative portfolio signed by Disney artist Lorelay Bove.

OMG! A three-disc set!
There are also the demos and the new recordings from
The Lost Chords! (I loved that collection!)

Question:
Does the lion king soundtrack have a paper in the back that lists the tracks?
I got my soundtrack today and all I can see in the back is the image with simba and mufasa. No words at all.

I don't really care about lithographs, but the portfolio is a nice picture I wish would be in one of the albums. I like how Ariel is swimming in the sheet music and Pocahontas is stirring her way overtop in her canoe.
The
Mary Poppins cover is really nice! I actually don't own a soundtrack of MP other than the Broadway recording, although I have several tracks from the Disney classics compilations. A long overdue purchase for me.

The tracks should be listed on the sleeves where the actual discs are held.

So apparently, there this online feature where you can see an interview with the artist of the cover as she draws the portfolio cover.
There's also a survey and at the end, they ask if you have a vinyl record player and if you collect records. So maybe they are a plan in the future to release them as records.

Interesting how they are using the discontinued Lost Chords collection on the Mary Poppins release. Also, the disc 3 is the disc 2 of the special edition released a while ago. Lucky I never bought this.

I know they've only got the releases through the end of 2015 planned for now, but I hope they eventually have one for Bedknobs and Broomsticks. And I know I'm the only one for this one, but I would love to finally have an album release for The Sword in the Stone. I wouldn't mind Mulan either, since they never included the score for the best scene in the film--when Mulan cuts her hair and steals her father's armor.
Of the ones planned, I'm definitely getting them all but Toy Story. Disneyland is a question mark for me, since I don't know much about the parks.

I knew I was going to purchase "Poppins" and "Mermaid" but I may just use this line as an excuse to bolster my anemic CD collection... I only have seven, and only three of those are Disney titles.

I'm hoping to get Lion King soon, and I also have my eye on Mary Poppins, Sleeping Beauty, and Disneyland. I'm also considering Fantasia, but I'm not sure how I'd like to listen to the soundtrack without the gorgeous animation accompanying it.
