I really do hope something is coming alongside the release of this. I mean, I just searched through Amazon, and pretty much EVERY Pooh-related DVD is OOP. It's very peculiar. Disney must be planning SOMETHING.

Perhaps the European BD release was canceled in order to do a duel release with the original? Wishful thinking though

Here's my prediction on the rereleases of "The Many Adventures...", "Pooh's Grand Adventure", "The Tigger Movie", "Piglet's Big Movie", and "Pooh's Heffalump Movie"...
"The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" will probably be rereleased for its 35th Anniversary. To tie-in with it, or to release later in the year, Disney will release 2-Movie Collections of some mixture of the other 4. Does that sound like it could be possible?

God, I hope not..
I'm all for a 35th Anniversary Edition for Many Adventures. But please, no more 2-Movie collections. T__T

Or they'll pull a Lion King and you can only get the spin-off movies in a big boxed set

Considering this film is supposed to ignore those other sequels, I think that is unlikely.

No Blu-ray in Europe?! That's ridiculous!

I can almost guarantee the reason they are not releasing TMAoWtP at the same time as Winnie the Pooh is simply because it would confuse a lot of people. I would imagine that we won't see Many Adventures for at least a couple of years.

Does anybody know if the Bluray will be also region B encoded? Then i could get the american edition
I went to buy the dvd here in Holland today, but I didn't eventually, because it's a poor single disc, amaray package, dvd release.
and Disney hasn't done a thing to promote it, yes a commercial, but since it flopped at the box office here I expected more. It was even hard to find between the other non-special edition dvd's. No sign or a single shelf to put it on, so it's Disney's own poor fault it won't sell on dvd...

You're right. So, the release must have moved up from December to October now.
Winnie the Pooh will be released on Blu-ray in Australia & New Zealand on October 5, 2011.

WOOOHOOO!
It played here in Perth for 1 week, and half the screen was blurry
Sunhuntin, have you checked all your cinemas? In Perth it was exclusive to grand/ace cinemas, and in every other state it was exclusive to Reading cinemas. Hope you catch it!

i admit i only checked the local independant, but they havent even shown an ad on tv, and the news channel that does movie reviews hasnt mentioned it. a google hasnt given me any kiwi cinema results either, except one forum mentioned october release in cinema. guess disney arent interested in making much off this with the intl market. such a shame

Disney doesn't use region codes on Blu-rays anymore (the last release they did was afaik TPatF)
