How did the sun symbols just show up in her room? But you're saying that that right there was her awareness sort of pouring out, her understanding that she is the princess?

I recall Rapunzel says "I'm not scared anymore" and tries to hand him the satchel. I think she says, "Do you know how that feels?" or something like that (trying to do this off of my memory.) Then Flynn pushes away the satchel, says, "I'm starting to," then his "non-existant solo" comes up. I thought it ment he was starting to not be scared of loving Rapunzel anymore.
I'm still not completely sure, but Flynn's lyrics are romantic (somewhat ...) and right after that he takes Rapunzel's hand and they song a duet. Could you please tell me what you thought it ment?
(Highlight to read)
Eugene always hid behind the Flynn persona because he didn't want to be the orphaned nobody. He wanted to lead an adventurous life, to be somebody. He was starting to realize, through Rapunzel, that being Eugene was good enough, that Eugene was worthy of love.
Thanks. I like your idea.

Right, I agree with blackcauldron--
When Rapunzel says "I'm not scared anymore. You know what I mean?" and Flynn replies "I'm starting to," he's literally saying "I'm starting to [know what you mean]" and the meaning behind that statement is bascally exactly what blackcauldron said.

AH! That would be torture. Well, I guess you COULD get it in-other-ways. But I'd rather support Disney.

This is to PheR:
I agree that a wedding right away would be too soon. But the story as narrated by Flynn says that they waited and then married. So it would have been okay to show a wedding at the very end since they DID wait. Also, I really think the lantern scene at the very end was part of the wedding celebration. The only thing they didn't show was them together. Did you see it as something other than the wedding celebration?

I don't recall if this was already mentioned, but did anybody else's faces light up when they showed the classic "Walt Disney Pictures Presents" logo with the line in the middle at the beginning?
Considering how they simply to just be slapping a simple "Disney" on their DVD/Blu-Ray covers, I was expecting that to show up, so it was such a pleasant surprise to see the old-school 90s Disney logo.

Well, the sun symbols were in the negative spaces in a lot of Rapunzel's paintings. When she looks around and when the sun symbols sort of light up, it's just the filmmakers assuring you what Rapunzel is realizing. So with the help of the suns and the blurry flashback, she realizes that she's a princess.
I hope that cleared that up ><
PS David Kido, I am oozing with jealousy of your talent and your Tangled goodies XD

Rapunzel had
distant memories of her mobile and parents. She was remembering the sun symbol which was hung above her crib. She was creating suns above her head in all of the negative space of her art. Negative space is the areas around the main pictures. It is something most art students learn to be aware of and some people specificaly use that to create an image within the image. Often the drawing itself is something entirely different but if you look at the background spaces you might see another picture. Or the negative space might have no special images. All art has negative space.
So, Rapunzel's art had all of these suns which you would only see if you were looking at the negative spaces. She never realized she was recreating the first images she remembers as a baby. When she is looking at the Kingdom flag with the sun on it, she looks up and suddenly sees all the negative space suns she created which triggers her to remember her first images including her parents. Two and two together and "I am the lost princess!".

Yeah, that image is beautiful.
Thinking more about the character of Rapunzel, I would say I do really like her, as far as the film goes. But she probably doesn't affect my rankings much, because I wasn't taken with her as I was with Tiana last year. Tiana, Megara, Pocahontas, Cinderella, and Ariel are my tops. But I do like Rapunzel (as a character) more than Jasmine, Mulan, or Jane. I like what
blackcauldron85 said best though, a few pages back, that they can co-exist!

So it's best to just leave it at I like her.

I....saw....Tangled...... I'm still in awe..and I don't wanna be one of those who writes 5 pages of what they felt about it..

but I will say my trailer reports, and audience

Almost full theater (entire for all movies, it's Black Friday and they're all shopping) and I got Narnia (i'll probably see with my Narnia fan aunt) and Yogi Bear (i'll see with my mom who can't wait for it) and also that I, a 14 year old guy surprisingly cried

i tried not to.... D: and that the rest of the theater, little girls, the one little boy and all parents cried too

and everyone especially one lady laughed hysterically everytime Pascal as much as blinked, same as Max, and only some shuffled at the songs, my mom and I were the only ones to stay through the credits though the ushers were..ushering us out

and damn..I wrote a long paragraph any way

It gets even better than that,
like, all this glowy stuff shoots of of Flynn's bloody wound, and it's all magical
and then it turns into the shape of a flower, and then goes and etc and I forgot, I was too in awe to take it in at one viewing

Flynn's definitely handsome, and I like him as a character, but looking at that, I'd find him more attractive as a hand-drawn man. Weirdest thing I've said all day, haha, but it's true.
Really? I actually think the quite opposite; He's waaay more sexier as a CGI character.
