Mine first video was Little Mermaid(I also have the reissue from some years later) and my first Disney DVD was The Lion King Special Edition.
My second is going to be Lion King 1 1/2

The very first DVD I bought was Sister Act 2 (at the same time as The Mummy Returns), so I guess you COULD count that. But the first Disney DVD was, I believe, Tuck Everlasting (but I had been given that Snow White Sneak Peek DVD first).

Let's see, my first Disney DVD was Lilo & Stitch. It was the only Disney DVD that I wanted at the time. Gotta love that Stitch.

Mine was Disney's The Kid, and I got it for my birthday in 2001. My first animated one was Dinosaur, same circumstances. My first Pixar was Monsters Inc. I own all the Pixar DVD's except for A Bug's Life, which I have on VHS.

My first DVD was "Lady and the Tramp", back in 2001.

I always loved the movie as a child.

Little did I realise in 2001 that my Disney collection would grow so big and become so expensive. Why has collecting Disney animation become such an obssesion for so many of us ?!

I suppose my reason is mainly because my favourite vacation destination is Disneyland, so the DVD's allow me to experience the magic when I can't get to the park.

My first Disney DVD was Pinocchio, the very first day it was released. I actually can't remember the date, although the insert included in the early 'Limited Issue' titles has the next batch (Mulan, 101 Dalmations, and Hercules) as being released November 9th 1999 so I guess it would have been a week or two before that.

I was interested in a DVD player since I found out that most of the movies released in that format were widescreen. I had held off for fear that the format wouldn't take off, but decided that once Disney released the animated classics on DVD, I'd go in on it.

Between late 1999 and today - February 29th 2004 - I've collected 96 Disney DVD's.
I have all of the animated classics that have been released, along with a mixture of live action (I love the Vault Disney titles), sing-a-long songs, Pixar titles, all of the Treasures, and Park and Vacation Planning discs.

I'm not sure what my first non-Disney DVD purchase was.

My first Disney DVD was Beauty and the Beast (Dutch title: Belle en het Beest). I bought it, because I like the movie.

The first DVD I purchased was Snow White and Lady and the Tramp (they came together from the Disney Store pre-order. It was a greaet deal, but I think they were just trying to get rid of the Limited Issues). But the first one I purchased and held in my hands was The Adventures of Icahbod and Mr. Toad. Then again the first one I watched was Snow White.

Okay, let me start over. I bought Snow White because I just had to with a great deal like that and a few days before I was just thinking, why hadn't Disney rerelased Snow White on video yet? ANyhow, we didn't even have a DVD player and I really wanted one, so buying a DVD w/o having a player would force the family to get a DVD player (heheh, begged for one for my birthday that year ). So before my birthday, I also bought Icabod and Toad, which was also before I could pick up SNow White and Lady and the Tramp. So then a few weeks later I picked those up in October, but then I had to wait until November for the DVD player. Finally November came and I watched Snow White first the day after my birthday.

But in the end, I technically got the Snow White and Lady and the Tramp DVD first at the same time by purchasing the rights to get one before they were released.

Mine was Mulan -LE- why I picked was because it was newly released and they didnt have any other Disney DVD in stock!

It was either The Little Mermaid or Lady and the Tramp for me. I remember the first DVD's Disney issued well. They were pretty expensive at the time. All I know is that I purchased the first DVD's Disney issued before I ever bought a DVD player!

Mine was Monsters Inc. It was Pixar that actually moved me more towards Disney's films. As for Disney animated film, it would have to be Beauty and the Beast.

My first DVD was The Little Mermaid (Limited Issue) in 2001. I had been searching for that film for months and I was starting to give up when I saw it. My jaw just dropped wide open for about 10 seconds and bought it soon. I didn't have a DVD player yet at that time so I could only watch it in my DVD-compatible PC. I didn't get a player until a few weeks later. My 2nd DVD was Snow White.

The first Disney DVD I ever bought for me was The Lion King in a sale in HMV. I was a bit skeptical about buying Disney films on DVD, as I already had the majority on video and I thought that I'd be wasting money. I'm not even thinking about buying each one of Disney's animated films, but I'm not so neurotic any more and I'm probably gonna get some more Disney DVDs.

Lilo and Stitch. I didn't see it in theaters, butI heard great things about the movie. But the real reason I bought it? (Besides I wanted to see it)...Because I wanted the surfboard poster/lithograph holder and lithographs.
