Assignment of the book begins tomorrow. You have a week to read the 125 pages, so I guess if you get the book Friday you have five days to read it.

Okay, I hope you got your book, Dottie.
First assignment:
Read the first 125 pages by next Thursday at 6:00 PM.
Good luck, and have fun!

I did and I've already started reading. But not much, just the first 30 pages.
Oh, and I love the cover with those two pale hands holding this gorgeous red apple that looks as if it was made for Snow White

I couldn't find the book at my library and I cant find it anywhere else so quick and I'm going on a vacation next week, so I don't think I find the time. So I will not participate (for now) I guess...

I have another question. We might not have all the same edition of the book, so page 125 might be a different one for all of us. Why don't we just say to read 'til chapter, I don't know 8? (that's roughly where page 125 is in my edition (British))

In the version I have, Chapter 7 starts at page 129...

That's exactly what I meant.
Maybe we should assign chapters and not pages as all the editions from different countries vary in their amount of pages, because of how big the letters are, how much space there is between the lines and if a new chapter always starts with a new page.....
If yours is the American version, I think most of us will have that one except for me, so what if we just read till Chapter 7? Everybody okay with that?

Sounds good with me...
I wonder if all the editions are the same length in the US...the text seems large in mine- is the text large in yours, too, Dottie?

The text is fairly big.
Chapter seven is fine.
I hope you're enjoying the book!!

It's smaller than the US version I think, but it's not the smallest I've ever seen. It's acutally a very "comfortable" size. But the space between the lines is bigger than I'm used to. But usually I get a lot of books from the US and the British publishing houses often have larger letters in their books, so it's kind of unusual to me.
I haven't read that much yet, in the middle of Chapter 4, but it really isn't bad and certainly not boring so far. I think we made a good choice.

In all honesty, all I had read of this book before today was the preface. But, I read almost 300 pages today at jury duty (my juror number didn't get called [YAY!!!], so I read for about 5 hours straight. It's honestly my favorite non-Nicholas Sparks novel. I think it's great! If my library has the other 2 books, then I'll get those eventually, and I'll probably end up seeing the upcoming movie! I haven't even watched much of the trailer, and haven't watched any of it with sound, because I don't want to spoil anything in the book!!!

Ames, the trailer is 59 seconds long, and it doesn't spoil anything that you haven't read yet.
