I mean, seriously. The show sucks to begin with...
The people who like the show don't think that it sucks! It's funny, and even kind of heartwarming at times. And it has music in it.
drfsupercenter wrote:Not to mention, Hannah Montana's only claim to fame is her one-hit-wonder father
Miley got hired on the show for her talents. Her father had to audtion for Miley, and Miley just felt comfortable acting with him.
drfsupercenter wrote:And let's not forget Lindsay Lohan. Disney promoted the heck out of her, and what happened? She became a druggie who became famous for a completely different reason, just like Britney Spears.
You can't blame Disney for Lindsay & Britney- you can blame papparazzi and other pressures of Hollywood, but not Disney. If you're going to be a teen idol, I would think that Disney would be one of the best companies to work for, because they want you to stay wholesome- they won't make you go to drug-filled Hollywood parties- they won't want you to go at all!
drfsupercenter wrote:A friend of mine told me they were paying her something like 5 million dollars to be the spokesperson for a condom company...
A Disney (or Miley) spokesperson said that they were never contacted by the company, and even if they were, the answer would be "no".
drfsupercenter wrote:Not to mention that Hannah Montana can't sing. People might like her acting, but come on! Just because your father's a country singer does not mean you're genetically able to sing! With all the computer effects they do to songs these days, you'd never know people like her couldn't sing... And it really annoys me how many fans she has.
I really like Miley's voice and her music- yes, too, she can sing! I've seen her live in concert- she doesn't lip-synch, either (I read online recently that during one song she lip-synchs, but I don't know about that).

I'm not the biggest fan of the show, or Miley, either, but I'm sick of all this.
Disney is probably the only company that helps their stars live and lead a good life. They've been brought up the Disney way, which means not partying often, no drugs, and no sex before adulthood. Just because one star, Lindsay Lohan, "missed the memo", doesn't mean every one will. And Britney Spears WAS a good kid, until, like, A few years ago...WHEN SHE WAS AN ADULT.
Disney has had some good-hearted, wholesome people come out of their studio. Just to name a few:
Hilary Duff, Raven Symone, Christy Carlson Romano, and numerous others.
Just because some stars get in trouble, it isn't Disney's fault. It's the star's lack of better judgement.
Disney had nothing to do with Lindsay Lohan's life, Britney Spear's parental issues, Shia Lebauf's car crash, Annaleise Van der Pol's DUI charge, or Miley Cyrus's famed pictures. It was their own fault.
Now, back to Miley: Every teenage girl takes photos like that. And so what? She's sitting with her boyfriend. That is NOT a big deal. So I say just leave her alone. She hasn't done anything to you personally.

There is a rumor going around that the reason the October 3rd Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at WDW was canceled (after people had already bought tickets) is so that Miley Cirus can have her 16th Birthday party there according to mouseplanet.com.
If that's true than that would really make that girl popular with all the people who now have to get refunds or alternate dates on their tickets.

I haven't even watched a single episode but I already hate it; and don't even want to watch it.
Why?
ALL THE MERCHANDISE AND ADVERTISING!!!!
Every 5 minutes there's some promotion for it. And you go to any store and there's everything about Hannah Montana; enough to make you sick.
Makes little girls feel as shallow as they can be
... as much as Bratz.

The irony here is that all girls, well, most girls, think she's their idol, that the universe begins and ends with her.

Don't blame the show or Miley for this you can blame Disney they're the ones making such a big push on the shows advertising and merchandise. Just like they make a big push on Princess merchandise.
You know what Big Disney Fan, maybe it's better that girls like Miley than continue to like bad idols like Lindsey or Britney
Fact is: She's a big hit right now and Disney will continue to promote her and her show so GET USED TO IT

There's nothing you can do about it and complaining just makes you annoying especially when your informatoin is wrong or based off of rumours (I'm referring to the person that Amy corrected a few posts above this)

Hating Hanna Montanna now makes me understand what my parents felt like when I was little and Pokemon was popular. There will always be a big, stupid fad that only appeals to little kids and Hanna Montanna is simply the 2006-2010 (I'm guessing the end will be somewhere around that time) craze. God help us in the future with the next fad when it comes.

I don't think that Miley is just a fad, though- her first solo album was a double album with a Hannah album, but her latest CD, Breakout, is all Miley, and it's doing phenomenally. Miley has the talent to have a music career into adulthood.

I don't really care for fads. That's why I had nothing to do with Transformers and Masters of the Universe (of course, I scarcely existed yet back then). That's why I had little to do with Ninja Turtles and Pokemon, and the list goes on and on. But I digress.

I have seen more episodes-One with Miley wishing that she was always Hannah Montana and it came true but everything was bad for her and one with Hannah want to go to Florida but her father gets hurt and don't want her to go alone but she goes anyway (I only have seen a few moments from the other episodes I saw),like I said before,it's nice but not it's not great like Pirates Of The Caribbean films or the Princess films.
Chernabog_Rocks-The Princesses are classics, there's nothing wrong with them, thought lately they seems to promoting more things like Fairies,High School Musical or Hannah Montana then the Princesses (Which I think it's very dumb, why less promoting them now when Giselle got her film released on DVD and Blu-Ray a few months ago,Ariel has Ariel's Beginning,Mulan has the Mulan and Mulan II collection,Aurora will get her film released on a Platinum Edition and Jasmine's movie was re-released in UK? in 2009 for exmaple it's seems that only Princess And The Frog will be released, they can take a break there after the film will get old).

Here's another nail in the coffin: there is a press release saying that Cyrus' 16th b-day being held at Disneyland.
ET Exclusive: Miley Cyrus' Sweet 16 at Disneyland!
Partying with Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus? $250.
Basically, what's happening is that Miley's b-day is being held at Disneyland, in style, no less, come Oct. 5. Disneyland is being closed to the general public for this event. A limited number of $250 tickets to the exclusive event, "Miley's Sweet 16 — Share the Celebration," are on sale now (as of Aug. 9). She will be celebrating from 6 PM to 11 PM, with the park closing at 5 PM; only ticketholders are allowed in. For the occasion, the park will be split up into a number of “Special Party Zones” that will contain Hannah Montana-themed activities and entertainment. Attractions and rides will be open in the park, and the evening will end with fireworks.
This is going too far! How low can they stoop? Why should Disney close the ENTIRE park ALL BECAUSE of HER!? The CMs say Happy Birthday to you on yours, but Miley, just because she is loved by the shopping world, gets the entire park to herself. She's a very, VERY spoiled brat, that's all I know!

People can buy a private night in the park if they have the cash.
I forget what the actual event is called, but there's always been a private party one night in September (for the past x-amount of years) for works and family of a company (forget which) that buys out the park that night. Also, it's the only night of the year when the Magic Kingdom serves alcohol.
In addition, celebrities have been known to buy out the park for private parties before.
Mouse Tales mentions that Liz Taylor had a HUGE private party for her 60th Birthday in 1992. And there was a summer day back in 2004 when Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz bought out Fantasyland (yeah, just Fantasyland) for a morning to do all the rides they wanted without any crowds. When they were done (and gone), Fantasyland was then re-opened to the public.
And let's not forget Grad Nites, private parties that high schools sign up and pay for.

Well, I don't really think that those should count. And now, especially where the parks stand now, they should at least extend DCA's hours like they've done in the past. Of course, they have been booked up months in advance, whereas this is only weeks in advance.
Besides, if I were to have the park to myself for the day on my birthday, I wouldn't go hog wild with the activities, I'd just have the presents, the food, the cake and let the attractions be the activities.

I don't really see why it's such a crime. It's not like disneyland is some sort of charity, goodwill resort - it's one of the most commercialized venues in the world. So if their current #1 star (or rather her loved ones who want to celebrate her existence) wants to buy/use out the whole place, why say no?

Well, I don't really think that those should count.
Why shouldn't it "count"? It's just as much a privately-sponsored and paid-for event. Just because it's a yearly tradition and high schools don't pay $250 a person to get in doesn't make it any "less" of a private event. Try gate-crashing a Grad Nite, you'll get turned down just the same as if you were gate-crashing this Sweet 16 party.
Like yukitora said, it's not like Disneyland's a charity resort that should let in everybody. It's a commercialized venue where you have to pay to have fun.
People buy out restaurants, museums, theatres, etc. for private functions. A theme park is no different.

Looks like that rumor can be debunked as both the park and date are wrong, Wire!

The park will be closed for everyone because of HER????

it's not her park!,if she lets the guests be there then it's okay then it's okay but closing the whole park for herself?

.
Just because she's rich doesn't mean she can have the park of herself

.
Gee,thanks a lot,Hannah Montana

That's why I said rumor. Bu still MK canceled that party and is closing early on the 4th apparently. With or without Miley.

In addition to all the birthday fun, Miley’s Sweet 16 will shine a spotlight on Youth Service America, an organization that seeks to improve communities by increasing the number and diversity of young people, ages 5 to 25, serving as volunteers. (For more information, visit www.YSA.org.)
In keeping with Miley’s passion for youth volunteerism, Disney Parks will make a significant contribution to Youth Service America.
With the organization’s involvement in “Miley’s Sweet 16 – Share The Celebration,” Miley said she hopes that other young Americans will be encouraged to volunteer in their own hometowns.
“The best part of the party is we’re going to recognize some really cool kids from Youth Service America who are giving back to their community,” she said. “That’s so awesome because I think it’s really important for kids like us to volunteer.”
So at least some of the money is going to a good cause.

About the merchandise-Disney knows how to market something too much,I haven't seen Camp Rock but it got on my nerves with the promotion Disney made for it.

But at least Grad Nites tend to take place late at night, when the guests automatically leave.
