I'm not saying he isn't capable of getting things right, I'm just saying he was off the mark there.

The purist in me is upset that Olivander knows what the Deathly Hallows are (in the book he only knows of the Elder Wand) but the other part of me is giddy about seeing John Hurt again; and a trailer at all!

I agree about Gambon's acting in Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix. Only problem is, I really don't know who to blame. I'm sure he's a good actor--maybe the directors are just really confused about how Dumbledore should act. It's funny though, that I think he would've been a perfect Aberforth. Maybe he will play Aberforth (thinks of all those films when actors play sisters/brothers). Nah, doubt it.

To be honest, I've all but given up on the Harry Potter film franchise. Maybe Deathly Hallows will turn out decent as a 2-parter, but I'm not counting on anything. And it's depressing considering all the good talent they've got (Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman, Imelda Staunton, etc). Hopefully, the extended editions might help the frantic, scatterbrainedness of the films thus far.

Regardless, I'm crossing my fingers that the next serious adaption will do a better job. :P

Please tell me you are not hoping for a reboot or a remake of the entire franchise after 2011 :?

Aberforth has already been cast. Can't remember who, but IMDb had the guy up.

Bill Nighy plays Aberforth.

That officially leaves only three british actors not in the films.

Ciaran Hinds is playing Aberforth.

As for the teaser, even though it's REALLY a tease, it's got me excited for the film. Just from the few shots we're shown, it looks like a midway point between Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince in terms of visual style. The locales and color timing look natural and gritty ala OotP, but the staging is very dramatic and symmetrical ala HBP. I'm wondering if the footage we've seen is a mix of both Parts I and II or just I. When Yates explained that he was going to make Part I a realistic road movie and Part II a sweeping epic, my first thought was he'd film the first half ala OotP and the second ala HBP. If what we've seen so far is from both parts, that explain why the style sort of flip flops. I guess it all depends on just where the break is since there seems to be a new rumor every week about where Part I ends.

I'm listening to Mugglecast Live on U-stream and they're talking the trailer. Interesting things about Polyjuice Potion and locations that were shot and the actors and such.

Here's the source.

Bill Nighy has an announcement. "I don't think I'm allowed to say it but I'm going to be in the next Harry Potter film," he tells us. "I won't say which character, but he's a goodie. I just got the gig." If you don't mind us saying, it's about time, Bill. The rangy actor has been dropping hints for aeons, once complaining that he was "the only British actor who hasn't been in Harry Potter". But has he read the books? "Not yet, but I will!" he says. "It's rather like being in a Shakespeare that way, you know?" Mm.

No, of course! Nighy plays Scrimgeur. Disregard my last posts(like you haven't already).

I have this question elsewhere. Anyone of you going to watch the BD Live Event, Saturday night, December 12, hosted by Daniel Radcliffe??? It is a special live broadcast of the movie with your opportunity to talk with Daniel about anything and everything Potter. After the showing there will be an exclusive 8-minute clip from "Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows" that will be only shown once, and that is during this special BD Live Event.

:D

I'm Netflixing it just for that. Then I'll get the movie for Christmas.

I hope I can get a copy by Sturday.

Oh no, I won't be able to participate!

It's not coming from Netflix. The Prince of Egypt instead. Why does everything have to be underordered by everyone.

You couldn't afford $17.99 for the combo pack of HBP??? That's all it costs, and surely you have enough movies you don't ever watch that you could trade in and get the cash for this Harry Potter event. Sorry you won't be able to participate, but it is your own fault, not ours.

I really want to participate in the event, but I already asked for Half-Blood Prince for Christmas from my parents, and it'd be unfair to them to either have them give me it now or my going out and getting it myself before they've had a chance to. I'm sure the sneak peek and Q&A transcript will both make it online, though, so I'll be patient.

^I hope so. Harry Potter is one of my most important holiday franchises!
