Any other who have a little problem with the second disc?
It won´t start every time I put the disc in the player - and in my computer it doesn´t play at all
(Both region 1)
But after much effort I got it started in my DVD-player.
No problem at all with disc one.
So I will certainly keep my old discs as well, since the possibility exsist that the new disc two, in a future player, maybe not will play.

I guess I'll wait until Sunday. If they haven't arrived by then, I will reply on that original mail.....
Sunday I replied on the original Disney mail (I received it on February 14) and today I have received an answer: They apologize for not sending me the replacement discs. They are sent again, so I guess I will receive them before the end of the week now. Let's hope so. I haven't watched the original set yet (didn't have the time) and I am eager to see these shorts!

They played fine on my computer. Haven't tried on the actual player yet.
But, has anyone else received a wrong replacement disc? I decided to replace the True Life adventures vol 1 disc as well while I'm at it, and they sent me a replacement disc of True Life Adventures vol 4.

To the folks who were wondering about the sequence of events concerning replacement discs... I also had to return my discs first. When I contacted Disney/BVHE and they sent me a prepaid return mail label and product information form instructing me to fill out the form and mail discs/form back in order to receive the replacement discs.

I have to say that this topic intrigues me.
As a dutch guy I never experienced any difficulties with the treasure wave series.
Is this just an american occurence?
Disney classics however is an entirely different matter, unlike american or canandian buyers We (poor euro trash

) can't just send a dis back.
By the way, how does someone contact the disney company?

There are differences between the Treasures series released in the US/Canada (region 1) and the Treasures series released in Europe (region 2). The most notable of the differences is: there are much more treasures released in US/Canada than in Europe. The problems this thread is about, are only apparant on the latest wave in the US/Canada and particularly on the set "More Silly Symphonies".

So far I have received some faulty Region 1 (US/Canada) discs, either a defective copy or an incorrect production (True Life Adventures and More Silly Symphonies). I also live in The Netherlands and always received my replacement copies without having to send back the original discs. As far as I've learnt from reading posts on this forum, no European residents ever had to send their faulty copies back whenever they needed replacement of a Region 1 disc.

It depends on what you want, but for reporting faulty discs, they have an online form you can fill out:

Today I received the replacement discs in the mail, as my wife told me. Let's see when I have the time to watch them.....

Hi there,
I was checking my replacement discs and on the back of disc two (the silvery side) I noticed something that looked like a water stain. It goes all the way around the disc in a wavy pattern. I've never seen anything like this before on a CD or DVD. I played a few short bits from the disc that seemed okay but didn't have time to run through the whole thing. Could this "stain" be a problem now or perhaps in the future? Can it affect my DVD player? Or is it no big deal?
Thanks!

Sorry you're having troubles too. I spoke to Disney Customer Service and was told that instead of burning their discs they press them which is what caused the strange mark. They said it shouldn't affect either the disc or my DVD player. I hope they're right!

Well I called in finally today--called the Canadian number on the DIsney website. Very nice customer service lady. She asked for my info, then asked me to read the number on the inside ring of the play side of both DVDs--the prob was she said it would start with (I think) an MG... None of mine started with an MG (I thought maybe cuz I got mine from amazon.com and she was the Canadian one, even though I live in Canada? but now am not sure) but I gave her the full numbers that were there and she seemed fine with that. She said she didn't knwo hwo logn they'd take as they wouldbe mailed from the US but that I'd be expected ot honour them and destroy my originals when they arrived....
I'll le tyou guys know when they arrive

WOW

Just thought I'd let you know how QUICKLY I received my replacement SSV2 discs to the UK...FOUR DAYS! That's right, FOUR DAYS! I contacted Disney using Ichabod's Link (THANKS!);
http://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/dvdsupport/, on Tuesday 14th August and they arrived this morning, 18th August. So if you live in the UK or anywhere in Europe, I'd imagine you'd receive this speedy service so don't hesitate! Oh, and there was NO mention of returning original discs...how good is that?!

I called again in late July 3 times to find out where my replacements were and the third time they sent me the label to mail the old ones back. I did that 3 weeks ago and called Wed. to see why they haven't come yet when all you guys in other countries get them in days. So I called and the lady said they hadn't recieved the ones I mailed in and to give it 2 more weeks. Then she said I should have paid for registered mail so it would have been tracked and I was like "No one ever said anything about me paying for tracking. I assumed the label you sent me tracked the package like Amazon's replacement program does" So then she insisted to give it too more weeks to see if they show up. So to say the least I was quit irked. Then yesterday the replacement discs showed up. That was very strange. Anyway, that's my story...

Information on Leonard Maltin's website does say that both discs of the More Silly Symphonies Treasures DVD set are ready as replacements by calling 1-800-723-4763 in the U.S. or 1-888-877-2843 in Canada. These discs supposedly will include new digital masters transfers for some of the cartoons, replicas of the original main titles for some of the black and white shorts, and the edit in The Night Before Christmas corrected back to the full original cartoon.
I know some of you have already gotten the discs, according to other posts. However, I'm not sure I'll get the replacements if I have to send them my original discs FIRST before they send me the replacements. I would rather just make do with the original discs I have.
However, I might just buy an extra set of the More Silly Symphonies and use those discs to send to get replacements. I'll have to think that one for a little while.

And indeed they do,
as I've demonstrated here.

Funny, I was going to do exactly the same thing if I had to send my discs back before they sent them out. It's not that I don't trust the international mail service; but better to be safe than sorry. Luckily, if you're outside the USA they just send you the discs.
Besides, being a rabid completist, I had an unnatural urge to own both pressings anyway...

Thanks so much for your detailed information on the new discs. It has helped me decide to get another copy of the Treasures set and trade the discs in for the corrected discs!!!

I've just received confirmation new discs will be sent to me. They didn't mention sending the old discs back, so I'll soon have both pressings ^^
Btw, I live in The Netherlands, but requesting new discs isn't a problem at all. I encourage everyone to do it. Well, everyone who actually bought the set, that is

My replacement discs of the More Silly Symphonies Treasures set went well.
I live in the USA, so I was required to send the original discs before I could receive the replacement discs. I was interested in having both versions, so I bought an extra set.
I sent my discs by Priority Mail on Saturday 25 August. Disney received the package on Monday 27 August and mailed out my replacement discs by First Class Mail the next day. I received the discs yesterday Friday 31 August.
I paid for Priority Mail and Delivery Confirmation because I wanted proof that I had sent the discs.
I'm happy with the corrections, although it was mainly the uncensored copy of "The Night Before Christmas" that I wanted. The recreated title cards were OK, but that wasn't important to me. It was nice to get the digitally restored toon "The Goddess Of Spring" instead of the earlier poorer copy, but I already had the digitally restored version on the Snow White DVD.
Considering all the steps that can and have gone wrong in such exchanges, Disney handled this DVD discs exchange perfectly. I'm very satisfied with my transaction.
