Awww, sorry to hear about your bad day Beastboy. It's good to see you around here again

I've had a lot of trouble with people in stores lately too, but I'll post about it in the Rant thread if I can find it.....Anyways, I keep forgetting about the Planet Earth show

that and I ran out of money so I wasn't able to buy more blank tapes.

I took action on this one recently. Wolves are a member of the dog family, aren't they? And unless I'm mistaken, is it not the dog that is man's best friend?

Well this news sucks. Canada and the US came in dead last on WWF's G8 Climate Change Scorecard:

Not only did I take action in those areas, but I also forwarded them to other family members, usually my father and my sister.

Thank you Big Disney Fan, I know I can always count on you

. A while back I posted somthing in the Tiger Trade thread. Did you get a chance to read it? I think many of you guys didn't notice what the outcome was. By the way, I just found out that a company wants to dump iron into the ocean. Iron dust. I don't know what some people are using their brain cells on

.
Here is another link where you guys can take action:
http://wwf.worldwildlife.org/site/PageS ... e=can_home
Also at the very bottom of the link there is a take action around the world link. This leads you to another page where you can also take action on serious issues such as the tiger trade.

I just found a neat Native American story/legend about why there are no Grizzly Bears on Vancouver Island (where I live). According to the legend an arrogant grizzly bear tried to jump the gap between the Mainland and Vancouver Island but he fell short and landed in the water, he was turned to stone.
Just downtown is this big rock and it's supposed to be the grizzly bear, because thats where he landed, just outside of town. I'm pretty sure that's the legend but I've never really heard the whole thing

I'll see if I can find out the rest since I more than likely missed a large chunk of it

Hi Guys!
Sorry I haven't posted in here

I've been reading and signing and doing everything, but I've been busy. I haven't posted much in the forum at all. I think the real reason I haven't posted in here is because I haven't really been in the mood for depressing news. I've been in a generally bad mood for almost a month now, I'm not quite sure why...it might have something to do with the fact that I haven't talked to Jeremy (my fiance) in a long time. But that's no excuse for being absent from this thread again.
I know I've told you time and time again how much I respect you and love you for what you are doing. But that isn't enough! I need to be more present in this thread. It was Beastboyravenz and I who wanted to start the first Environment Thread in the first place! I should still be as into now as I was then. I guess it's just that different things come up.
So....I'm sorry

Chernabog_Rocks, fill us in on that story, it sounds cool
So...Yeah. I love you guys, and I vow to be a better environment-lover.

Hey Jasmine I know how you feel, I've been in a rather bad mood for a while too. It's gotten to the point where most of my family avoids me

Anyways I haven't been able to track down the rest of the story (if there is more) so maybe I got it all

Well, my mother is a bit objectionable about my attitude toward the issue at hand. But at least my father can be spoken to without the fear of being hassled. Man, I can't wait to move out and be on my own. Then I will really be able to conserve.

Amen! I can't wait to move in with my fiance. I am going to make him do everything I say concerning the environment.
That's the beginning of a beautiful marriage. "YOU WILL DO EVERYTHING I SAY!"
oh well. he can deal

My sister is thinking of donating to defenders of wildlife. Does anybody know anything about this organization? I'm not insinuating anything negative about them, I just want to give my sister some positive feedback before she donates. I have donated to the WWF, but never this one, hope someone can give me their input.

My advice for your sister would be to phone them and ask some questions and find out more about them. There should be a contact us at the bottom of the main page. Hope that helps Beastboy

Well, all I know is that they called me because of one of the petitions I signed regarding gray wolves, and asked me to donate, but my mom won't let me, even though I said I would! She is making me stiff them, and I feel so incredibly guilty!

*hugs Jasmine* You could get your Fiance to donate the money in your name, and just pay him back, would that work?
On a different note, I've been wondering about Hyena's. One of my books says they belong to the Dog Family, and another says the Cat Family

Does anyone know which it is? I figure Hyenas could be a cross breed of both somehow...but it seems a tad farfetched (is that even a word?)

I just found out that one out of five plastic water bottles ends up in the recycler. That is crazy! I can't believe how dumb people can be. It takes up to one- thousand years for a plastic bottle to break down.

Wow, Beasyboyravenz, that's terrible! I can't effing believe that. People are so effing stupid, I just...UGH! Whatever. Not going to get into it.
Chernabog_Rocks, I simply love you. You crack me up! First you fall off the roof, then you think that hyenas are a dog/cat mix! Lmao! I am pretty sure that hyenas are part of the dog family, although they seem a big more like cats. Hyenas seem to be a family all to themselves because they are that strange. No, I could not get my fiance to donate money in my name because he doesn't have a job, or a lot of money to begin with, and there is no way his parents are going to let him do that, especially with their money. Don't I wish
Oh, and I think far fetched is just like that, two words. LMAO. you always make my day better<3

Abstaining from animal and animal by-products helps the environment, not to mention the animals. A lot less resources are wasted when making, say, a pound of wheat, as opposed to a pound of beef. That's my contribution.

I was reading a rather interesting article on belching cows. According to the article scientists say that creating a proper diet can reduce greenhouse gases.

A couple of cities ( San Francisco is one) have banned plastic bottles. I don't think people realize how expensive it is to create the bottle and how much it costs to transport it.
