Awesome! That's not the final cover art... I'm sure they will spruce it up somewhat. It is very similar to the original album cover art (see below). While the album is one of my favorites, its cover has never been... but hey, it was the 1980s.

I was actually coming in here to ask if Aaron ever saw that.

She even re-wrote a Christmas song - Up On The Housetop, I believe - right on the spot and made it a song about Paula and her love of butter.

It was so funny, and you could tell Paula was amused. (Of course, everything amuses Paula, but this was legitimately amusing.)

Here is preliminary cover art (as noted, this is not the final cover):
Here is a preliminary press release of sorts (more of an overview sheet for retailers):

Oh my gosh!!! This is fantastic! So it's like the Greatest Hits album? Just a Christmas version? I'm assuming it will have the trial version of the fan club, like the GH one did.
Again, thanks so much, Aaron! I cannot wait to buy it!
Do you think I should hunt down the Christmas albums anyway? Just to have them?

I definitely recommend hunting down the Christmas albums as well (actually, it shouldn't take much hunting once the season rolls around; they're usually on most stores' displays). Amy's Christmas albums are each masterpieces without a weak track on them.
This new CD will be worth it for the four new tracks alone. I've heard all four in one form or another and they are great. I really like this cover art too and hope it doesn't change much. I have to say I'm surprised that "Christmas to Remember" didn't make the track list yet; it's one of her most popular Christmas songs, so I'm thinking maybe it will turn up before all is said and done. (There are also rumors about a remastered version of "Let the Season Take Wing" -- a 1992 Target cassette exclusive which has never been released on CD -- being prepared for this CD, but nothing official on that).

I only have two Amy Grant Christmas CD's:
The one you got me for Secret Santa, My Best Christmas
And a Hallmark exclusive one, which I forget the name of right now..
And I love the coverart and hope it doesn't change much, as well.

I REALLY hope those TBD dates are in Pennsylvania.
[s]Slighly off-topic question, but not really...Aaron, it won't let me log into Friends of Amy. I read the memo and put my last name, but still no luck. Any help?[/s]
Edit: It's working. I'm PeterPanfan there for anyone that's a member.
Oh, and are those four new Christmas tracks written by Amy? I haven't heard of them.

Even if they aren't, Amy's
Lead Me On 20th Anniversary Reunion Tour is making three stops in PA:
November 19: Wexford, PA *
November 20: Hershey, PA
November 22: Upper Darby, PA
*The Wexford date has not been confirmed by AmyGrant.com yet, it was just leaked online by several press outlets, so it's definitely subject to change
PeterPanfan wrote:Oh, and are those four new Christmas tracks written by Amy? I haven't heard of them.
(1) Jingle Bells - This is the same ole Jingle Bells we all know, except that Amy is recording it in the style of Barbara Streisand. If you haven't heard that version, the verses are extremely slow-paced while the chorus is extremely fast-paced. It's pretty awesome. Amy has performed it during her last few Christmas tours, so I'm glad that she's finally recording it.
(2) I Need a Silent Night - Yes, Amy wrote this one. And it's going to feature a cameo from her youngest daughter, Corrina Gill.
(3) Baby It's Christmas - Amy wrote this one too; it's going to be a duet with Vince Gill.
(4) Count Your Blessings - I believe this is going to be a cover of the Bing Crosby/Rosemary Clooney song from
White Christmas (1954). Amy sang this as a duet with CeCe Winans on her 1999 CBS television Christmas special and I really liked it, so I'm glad she's recording this too.

Here's the article announcing the new info:
Amy Grant Set To Release The Christmas Collection This Fall
Wed, Jul 30, 2008 @ 09:51 AM PST
When you are not only a Grammy® Award-winning and multi platinum-selling artist, but also have three best-selling Christmas CDs while selling over six million Christmas albums overall what do you do? If you are Amy Grant, you hand–pick your favorites, record four new songs, and put them all together in one special CD. Such is the case with Grant’s THE CHRISTMAS COLLECTION, which will release nationwide on September 30th through EMI Music.
Featuring the first new Christmas music recorded by Grant in nine years (since 1999’s Christmas To Remember) THE CHRISTMAS COLLECTION features favorites including “Breath of Heaven,” “Grown Up Christmas List” and “Tennessee Christmas” along with new tracks produced by Brown Bannister including original tunes “I Need A Silent Night,” co-written with Chris Eaton (“Breath of Heaven”) including a special cameo from daughter Corrina as well as “Baby It’s Christmas,” a song Grant co-wrote with husband Vince Gill. The result is a classic Christmas album reminiscent of the Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, etc. albums of old (see full track listing below).
In support of the project, Grant will hit the road in early December for a Christmas Tour that will also feature Vince Gill. Targeting 15 cities, Grant will bring a festive and nostalgic evening to Baltimore, Atlanta, St Louis, Nashville and more.
Just before the holiday season kicks into full swing Grant will tape a “Holiday Celebration on Ice” on November 11th for NBC. The special will feature Grant singing Christmas favorites, along with Michael W. Smith, and the skating talents of Olympic, World and National Champions including Nancy Kerrigan and Viktor Petrenko. Taped in HD, the special will be televised nationally on NBC on Sunday, November 30th, as well as three separate times on The Style Network between December 1 and 25, 2008, and shown a minimum of 20 times on the Universal HD network between December, 2008 and May, 2009.
For more information on Grant, THE CHRISTMAS COLLECTION, and her tours, please go to

Amy Grant’s career spans over 25 years and stretches from her roots in gospel into an iconic pop star, songwriter, television personality, and philanthropist. Grant has sold more than 30 million albums and won six Grammys ® in multiple categories, beginning with the platinum-selling Age to Age in 1982. She also has six #1 hits, including “Baby, Baby,” and “Every Heartbeat” and is one of only two Christian artists to be awarded a star on the legendary Walk of Fame in Hollywood. Grant released her first live recording in 25 years with Time Again...Amy Grant Live in September 2006, and then announced her first ever label shift to EMI Music Group where her entire music catalog was re-mastered and released via a GREATEST HITS CD and made available for the first time digitally. This fall she will release her first new Christmas music in 9 years, which in addition to four new songs, features tracks that were hand-picked by Grant to include the best songs from her previous albums that result in a classic Christmas album reminiscent of the Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, etc. albums of old.

Ah, gotcha. I still need to buy all of her albums. I only have the two you sent me.
Are they all in stores, and how much do they usually go for?
Oh, one more question: Do you have all the DVDs/VHS released by her? Is there any way to get a hold of them? I want them so bad, especially the Christmas ones.

by AwallaceUNC
All of her albums are still in print and available in most stores. Well, actually it's rare that any one store would have all of her CDs (she has in the neighborhood of 30 albums, depending on what you count), but if you hit up a few of your local stores, you'll probably find a good number of them. Christian bookstores like Lifeway and Family Christian usually have huge Amy Grant sections with all or most of her albums. Her older albums are usually in the $9.99 - $11.99 neighborhood. Her newer albums are probably around $13-15, depending on where you go.
Amazon.com currently has a lot of her albums on sale for $8.97 each and eligible for Super Saver Shipping. AmyGrant.com also has a lot of them on sale for $9.99 (and FOA members get a discount).
I'm missing one of her DVDs (well, it's not really part of her videography, it's just an appearance she makes) and I'm missing one of her VHS. Most of her DVD releases are available in major retailers... the VHS stuff is all out of print, so you'll have to go to eBay, Amazon Marketplace, or some place like that.

How much do FOA members get off of items?
Posted: Wed Jul 30, 2008 8:20 pm
by AwallaceUNC
10% off, so the $9.99 albums would be $8.99, but then shipping is $2.99, so if you're getting a couple albums at once, Amazon might be the better option.

Okay, thanks!
Sorry for all these questions, Aaron, but I have another one.
In which order would you suggest getting the albums? I can't decide which ones to get next? Should I begin to get her christian/pop released, or her Christmas ones?

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) -- Thanks to technology, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride and LeAnn Rimes will be among the country stars performing with the king of rock 'n' roll on "Elvis Presley Christmas Duets."
The new album, due out October 14, will also feature Gretchen Wilson, Wynonna Judd, Sara Evans, Amy Grant and Anne Murray.
Sony BMG is releasing the disc in partnership with Elvis Presley Enterprises Inc. They say it's the late icon's first duets album and the first Christmas compilation of its kind.
"This is an excellent example of the innovative ways in which we keep Elvis' catalog fresh for new and existing fans," said John Ingrassia, president of the Sony BMG Commercial Music Group.
While Presley only recorded 20 Christmas songs, his holiday albums have sold more than 25 million copies in the U.S. alone.
His 1957 release, "Elvis' Christmas Album," is the top-selling holiday release of all-time with 9 million in sales, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.
The Jordanaires, the vocal group that backed Presley on most of those early recordings, are rerecording their parts for the new album.
"It's done in very good taste," the group's Gordon Stoker said Tuesday. "We're doing the same background we did originally on the recordings in 1957."
Work is still under way in the fabled RCA Studio B where Presley recorded. Tracks include "Blue Christmas" with McBride, "Here Comes Santa Claus" with Rimes, "Merry Christmas Baby" with Wilson, "White Christmas" with Grant and "I'll Be Home for Christmas" with Underwood.
"It's amazing what they can do," Stoker said. "Elvis sounds great. The recordings sound as if they were done yesterday."
Priscilla Presley said in a statement that she's pleased with the caliber of artists on the album. "I am sure Elvis would be proud to have worked with them."
