I always thought Steve was an idiot just trying to get attention by surviving the bite of an animal. I never knew he tried to save endangered animals and species and was doing all this to get the world excited about animals. And that is really awesome in my book.

Rest in Peace Steve
Have fun battling more crocodiles in heaven!

Steve also saved a human life. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/st ... 02,00.html

Steve's way of showing the animals was unconventional. We were use to a man standing 100 yards away from an animal and talking quietly. His was was less orthodox. But it got people's attention, they actually listened and remembered what he said.

Thank you very much

I think this is really sad.
I never really was a fan of him though.
But I didn't hate the guy lol.
He loved what he did and he made good money.
Look at the Stupid Jack Ass people on MTV... they are making money.
I am sure something bad will happen to one of them idiots lol. :D
Sorry just had to say that. :)

On Entertainment Tonight they were talking about his little girl and how she was exactly like him in that she loved animals and loved doing what he did. Kept showing the pictures of the two together. It was so sad. I feel so sorry for her and her brother. It must be devestating to lose a father so young.

I was so sad when I heared about this! Because I love animals, and I liked watching Animal Planet so he was a regular person on that channel. And the other sad thing about it is that he died by a sting ray for an underwater documentary...I like stingrays and sea animals...its sad to know he died by one.. :(

Been avoiding these discussions because it is all there is on the bloody "news" over here at the moment.

The Official Loomis Word: The dude poked dangerous animals for a living. He did some great coservation work too, I'll grant you, but you play with matches...you get burned.

There is a reason David Attenborough is still alive after all these years...

Goodbye UD. I bid you farewell.
I give him three days.
You should have given me two. UD is too addictng to stay away from too long. I'm sorry to all everyone here who thought I was mean, but that doesn't really mean that you can say what you said. Everyone has their own opinion and mine just happened to be what I wrote. I guess it's just me, but I really don't think that he--I'll just leave that sentence for now. I'm sorry if I hurt people's feelings, but that was just my opinion, and I don't think that I should be criticized for my opinion. I don't want 2-3 pages saying how terrible a person I am, and how I should be ashamed, and that I shouldn't state my opinion, because everyone has the right to an opinion, and I just stated mine. That's all I really have to say. So, I will be back here on UD, but I'd perfer if there was less of "you should be ashamed" "how could you say that?" "you must be heartless" kind of sentences. Now, if you'll excuse me, I will be in the other forums looking for stuff that doesn't pertain to Steve Irwin.

Sequel - your kidding me. I would never have guessed that your little outburst was nothing more than a drama queen moment meant to garner you yet more attention. Well at least it worked.

True, but by the same token, it isn't really a shock either. It's like car crashes in the grand prix. You kind of expect them, yet people still gasp.

It wasn't "a drama queen moment meant to garner" me "yet more attention".

So much for going to other forums to get away from discussions on Steve Irwin.

Keep the drama to yourself or KEEP IT TO PM.

That said.

Curing? Trolling? Advertisment?....How about a memorial site? Wikipedia took down the www.RIPSteve.com siting it as spam. Join me on Wikipedia and add that you want to see www.RIPSteve.com in the External links of Steve Irwin's article. He deserves it.

After two warnings, this thread continues to be problematic. I'm going to lock it for a few days. I'll reopen it after a little time has passed and hopefully discussion can continue peacefully if it continues at all.
