i watched lion king in the west end last year for my birthday and at the time i thought it was alright but lately i've been listening to the broadway soundtrack and i want to watch it again

-i'm seeing beauty and the beast in may, and i can't wait but i'm worried that i won't like it because beauty is my favourite disney film

i'm seeing mary poppins in june for my birthday and i think it'll be brilliant

Because they make more money on ticket sales. Cats had it's great run. But was lagging behind. They figured put it on DVD, make whatever sales they could. Wait a few more years, they will allow smaller theaters to set it up. In Daytona Beach, the Seaside Music Theater got the rights to put it on. They have done it twice. Haven't seen it there, but I heard it was great

If they are not thinking on take them to another countries, they should at least sell them on DVD

or they are thinking that a normal guy would travel thousands of miles just to see a play?

Not even close for me, though. HERCULES all the way! It would be perfect for it!

Hercules! The Best choice!
Pocahontas would also be nice, and maybe the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame would be absolutely rivetting. They'd need some more songs, though.

Hercules would also be pretty good.

Mulan...not so much...IMO.

Me...I think Aladdin or The Little Mermaid would be cool...i thought they were doing an Aladdin one, but i don't know...

Hunchback is already a Broadway-like show in Germany

The Little Mermaid is supposed to be coming out in a few years after Tarzan officially opens.

I think a GREAT choice would be Hercules!!!

I don't think Pocahontas will even become a official Broadway show just because of the controversy the film got for being historically inacurate (which is a argument i've always found to be very silly in the first place. i mean yes it's not true... at all, but that's not the point at all either!).

Hercules would be a great choice. So would The Little Mermaid. Both would need more songs though.

Aladdin would be grand, but there is already Aladdin - The Musical Spectacular playing at Disney's California Adventure. It is only 50 minutes (or so), but it shows that it could be one of the biggest events on stage with a bigger budget.

Of course, many of the live action could be interesting as well. Mary Poppins looks like it got a Broadway production, and it would be good to see someof the musicals from that era get a guernsey. Old Yeller? The Parent Trap? 20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea!!

Does anyone know the schedual* for these musicals? I would really like to see one of these, but do not know the schedual. I have looked on the Disney Musical website but couldn't find anything about when or where they broadway show will be. If anyone has any info on this please post.

If anyone in the Orlando area wants to see TLK, it's coming to our area in the 06-07 season. I already have my tickets.

She's right. Beauty and the Beast is not on tour, but it could still be produced by a professional theater company. Check all the theaters where you live and ask to see their season schedule. Beauty and the Beast is being produced in my city in about a month.

I would save your money for The Lion King. It's famous for its stagecraft and innovative production designs, whereas the other is a bore. No thought when into it all, which is understandable since it was Disney's first foray into Broadway. It's pretty much a show that showcases each of the songs in a flashy musical number with almost zero attention given to intermediate scenes. It's essentially a carbon copy adaptation of the film, which may be OK to the casual observer, but for someone looking for a musical that is artistically sound, that just does cut it.

The thing is, he's right. It's more or less the film, put on a stage. There were a couple neat things, but meh.
