I've got only two pez dispensers, Snoopy and Garfield. Not a big fan of the pez candy anyway, lol.
Anyways, I've watched the film twice now. Once alone and once with Kram since he came home this weekend. Both times I found it enjoyable, with a rather shaky story, and some headscratching pop culture references (Spice Girls' "Wannabe"???). I wouldn't call it the worst from WDFA, it's got charm in both animation and in character. If anything, the movie's a somewhat acquired taste. You'd need to watch it once to get a feel for it and be entertained (if possible), another time to pick up on things you may have overlooked and notice subtle things about animation and story, and maybe once more to see if you can stomach it. Then, after those three viewings, make a decision if it's a good movie or not.
The bonus features were sparse, as I expected. The 18-minute featurette could have been much longer (even a decent half-hour docu would be fine), and I would've liked to seen some still art or storyboards. And if they took the time to interview the makers (and end up using only 18 minutes), they could have found time to sit them down for 80 minutes to record a commentary. But it's not a priority film for me to delve into every production detail, so what's given is perfectly fine, since not much of even the 18-minute featurette or 10 minutes of deleted scenes has rewatchability for me.

THANK YOU ESCAPAY!!!
Your opinions on Chicken Little, nearly sum up mine!
Anyone expecting a "Pixar" film is going to be disappointed. But if you look at it, it's really entertaining.
I think if you keep an open mind on it, like Home on the Range, you'll enjoy this movie. I liked it. Most of the jokes were funny, the characters are likeable and the story was original.
When I saw it, I wasn't expecting much, yet I love it. When you think about it though, it wasn't THAT great, but it's still decent IMO. In fact it's still an incredibly underrated film I'll keep on defending!!!
I mean c'mon, it's no where near as bad as disasters like "The Black Cauldron", "The Hunchback of Notre' Dame", "The Aristocats", "The Fox and the Hound" and "Cinderella".
Well okay, maybe I'm the ONLY one who'd rank CL above that last one!
As for the DVD, I'm still debating on whether to get it or not. For some reason, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a "double-dip" in the future.

I got the disc today and now that I have seen the Don Knotts Storybook opening I almost don't want to watch the first four minutes of the film. I thought the film's start (as it is now) was good the first time but after a while it just does not seem right in my opening. Don's Storybook opening had so much charm and wit in its 2 minute length (and gives Don more than seven lines, one “Don't go brakin' my heart”, and some SFX). The "Cooking with Klaus" opening was nice but I have found that the best way is to mix the Storybook and cooking openings. THAT would have been an amazing opening.

I have to agree with you on that one. The film's current opening feels rather forced and self-conscious. The storybook opening would've been better, except then they'd have to come up with a closing storybook ending, and I like the Ain't No Mountain High Enough ending that's in the film. The Cooking with Klaus opening is probably my favorite one. The filmmakers thought they were going off too much on a tangent, but that early in the film, it's ok to not be plotty. Just having a little self-contained scene to start the film off with helps you get to know the characters and their everyday lives more.

Woohoo, we found a movie we both enjoy! Too bad it's not Finding Nemo, lol, and thank god it's not The Lion King!

While I'd agree to rank it above The Aristocats (never cared for it) and The Fox and the Hound (too childish, imo), it'd be hard for me to consider Chicken Little as better than The Hunchback of Notre Dame (wonderful music, very adult story, but all around, a bit of a bore to watch.) Still on the fence if I could think of it better than The Black Cauldron (a guilty pleasure) and Cinderella (it depends on my mood towards Disney Princesses).
As for the opening, I feel they could have done WITHOUT the reference to The Lion King. Might as well try comparing a train wreck to a fender bender. It was totally unnecessary, seemed pretty forced, and also looked to be a very sneaky "Hey, remember this? It's Disney! We're Disney too, so you must love us as much as you love this!" subliminal message.
I'd have gone with the Cooking with Klaus opening, because as Disneykid said, it's self-contained and at the beginning, so it works well.

It should be noted that Chicken Little was the #1 selling DVD for the week ending March 26, 2006.
