when i was visiting Disneyworld in 2004 i saw this under construction and i understand it's finally open! has anyone been there yet? i'm dying for a detailed review...

You start off at the base of the Mtn...go on the side of it & hear weird exoitic noises & go over some bunny hills. Then you spin into the main lift that leads into the mountain...during the main lift u go through like a temple & face a mural of the Yeti & hear some growling and more weird noises & "suspenseful music". On both sides of the lift you get a beautiful view of DAK & see the rest of 'the world'.

Once you get into the mountain you hit a few more bunny hills then come to the peak of the mountain where you see the track is torn straight off & facing the sky. The Everest Bird (once a local to Jungle Cruise & the Tiki Room who know resides at the peak of the mtn to warn u of the danger ahead) flys toward you & then backs off. The train stops at the broken track- you hear some loud growling and the train shakes & you ride BACKWARD down the track INTO the dark dark mountain. You cant see/know where u are going (this is the fastest part of the attraction)

Finally after a few swift turns your train comes to a stop & see a shadow puppet of the Yeti jumping on the track roaring at the train and ripping itthe track up and off its course. Then you fall out of the mountain down the "big drop" thats twists at the bottom and then the train twists up back INTO the mountain do a few more bunny hills and as you exit the mountain the Yeti is there grabbing for you & roaring. Then you exit the mountain and then pull into the exit.

The ride doesnt go upside down- but going backwards is a little bit scary- you go fast & have no idea where u are going.
A very well thought out/detailed attraction. Everyone should try it once- even if you dont like coasters- its not that bad...if you can do splash mtn & even then are a little ify on it- this attraction isnt as scary as Splash w/ its big drop.

I rode this ride back in April before it officially opened, and I have never been more scared in my life. We went up this huge hill and I knew at some point we had to go backwards, well I thought we were going to be going backwards down the hill. I started freaking out, and honestly thought I was going to die. However, the good news is you don't go backwards down the big hill. I think I was in shock for like an hour after finishing the ride though. I'm going to be riding it again this weekend, so hopefully I'll be able to pay attention to the yeti and my surroundings more.

Good luck crunk...backwards isnt too bad....& the drop- not as bad as Splash.
1st timers are usually anxious/nervous especiallly when it's a thrill ride. that's normal.

Keep your eyes open & brace yourself again for a great ride.
