As Zavvi have gone into administration, and a number of their stores are closing, there seems to be a bit of a really huge clearing-out. In the store in Manchester Arndale, all CDs, Blu-Rays, DVDs and video games were reduced by 25%. Moreover, a number of Disney titles were already fairly low-priced before the general reduction, including some newer titles like WALL-E (£10.99...therefore £8.25) and Sleeping Beauty (£9.99...therefore £7.50).

I hear WHSmiths is dropping DVD (and CD) sales. So there could be a few bargains in-store in the next month or two.

that would explain why a new w.h.smith opened in my high st a few weeks ago, but sell no cd's or dvd's. so the rumour seems to have a good foundation, but they were one of the dearest shops to start with so i would imagine any reductions would just bring it down to the prices of others. we will just have to wait & see.
