Batman - It really is in overrated piece of junk. I found it to be dull and plain, especially for Tim Burton. Plus, I couldn't stop comparing it to Batman Begins. Probably another factor for my disappointment.

I was channle surfing and landed on the WB here which was palying the Movie Wide Awake. I rented it a long time ago and really like it, so iut was sorta nice being able to revisit the movie.

Tim Burtin's Batman (1989) is an amazing film. It's not supposed to be Batman Begins. For you to even compare it to a film that is 16 years newer, is unfair and not right. And where did you get the idea that it was overrated? Every major critic didn't think much of it (shows how much they DON'T know).


I watched The Virgin Suicides. Okay, but not great. I suggest Girl Interrupted instead.

I've just watched the original cut of Oliver Stone's Alexander. An OK film, but nothing special. However, despite some interesting artistic choices (mainly the accents) I don't think it was worth the scorn given out by the media. The battles were brutal, absolutely brutal and they alone make the film worth seeing.

The film was as close to a historical document that mainstream cinema will allow. It wasn't an epic piece of historical hokum like Troy or King Arthur or let's face it, even Titanic was, it was supposed to entertain and educate. I'm sure some fact-fiddling was done, but I'm also sure it is a reasonably accurate retelling. As for the bi-sexual undertones - that was history people! The ancient Greeks were famous for having and encouraging bi-sexual relationships. Just like this cannot be erased from historical texts, it cannot be erased from a film which seeks to inform the viewer. It was all a lot of fuss over nothing anyway - It's amazing how there's so much suffering and injustice in the real world today, and people become fixated on the past.

I think had Stone arranged the flashbacks a little more logically and tried to get a smoother, unform accent for most of the characters, the film would have escaped much of its critisisms. It will be interesting to view the new Non-Director's Director's Cut and compare (which I also have) but first I want to watch the original with the commentary on.

At 30 pages I think its time for a Vol.3 before someone tells us too.

Last night My boyfriend and I went to the movies and saw the Dukes of Hazzard It was pretty good, I mean to me it was more of a guy flick than anything but I did have my laughs.

Last night I watched The Bad News Bears (original).

I just finished watching Ladybugs.

on sunday i went to the movies and saw Must Love Dogs it was great and then last night i watched the notebook i love that movie

Over the weekend I saw three movies...

On Saturday I saw Identity. I liked it but no one else in the room enjoyed it.

On Sunday I saw Wedding Crashers and I loved it. Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn make a great team. It was also the first movie I've seen in theatres since January 2004.

Last night I saw Guess Who and it was decent but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be.
