Yeah, but that's just for the movie. They had creative control for the stage show.estefan wrote:And even when they adapted Little Shop of Horrors, a couple of songs were cut even after they were filmed, like when "The Meek Shall Inherent" was dramatically shortened or the infamous re-shot ending that took out "Don't Feed the Plants" and had Audrey II die at the end.SpringHeelJack wrote:I imagine it's the difference between, say, his experience writing "Little Shop of Horrors" and something for a major studio like Disney. With LSOH it was essentially him and Howard working through it themselves and calling the shots, and with a major studio you risk getting "Part of Your World" cut because some kid can't hold onto a box of popcorn.
I dunno. Howard and Alan seem like very different people. Howard seemed like the kind of guy who thrived on being involved in all aspects of things, i.e. how he did the book for LSOH and the lyrics and then moved into tinkering with the stories on "The Little Mermaid" and "Beauty and the Beast" whereas Alan always struck me as the more laid-back one who sort of just stuck with what the musical aspects. Even if Alan had creative control offered to him, you have to wonder if he'd want it.monorail91 wrote:I agree, I hate what ifs...
But think how things might have been different if Alan Menken had more creative control! Like how Howard Ashman was Executive Producer (?) and worked on the story for Little Mermaid and Aladdin, and of course those turned out great.
Blu-Ray. Lucky for me, my laptop has Blu-Ray, plus the 3D TVs are too muchCampbellzSoup wrote:It's coming down to the wire are we getting the 3D release guys or regular blu ray have we decidedi'm uncertain!

I'm more glad the blu ray discs have a more interesting design than all the DVD discs they've been releasing.jrboy wrote:I'm so gald they made the DVD/Blu-ray logos bigger, I've always had a hard time telling them a part
Probably get the regular Blu-ray combo pack since I don't have a 3DTV, or plan to get one.CampbellzSoup wrote:It's coming down to the wire are we getting the 3D release guys or regular blu ray have we decidedi'm uncertain!
Are we sure this was not coincidental? Why would they do that on purpose? Is that supposed to foreshadow the bunny coming out of the bushes later on? Is it a hidden "Oswald" perhaps?mokka456 wrote:haha, I just noticed that there's a rabbit shape in Rapunzel's shadow:

My prayers go out to everyone effect by this tragic time. I hope everyone I know over there is coping and that we all band together to show our support.
They have, actually.Prince Edward wrote:It's sad for Walt Disney Animation Studios and Tangled that the film's box office sucess will get hurt by this major disaster. Can't Disney delay it's premiere?
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/t ... pan-166974Scheduled Japan openings for a pair of animation titles -- Disney's Tangled and DreamWorks Animation's Megamind in 3D from Paramount -- were in limbo. Both were anticipating lucrative payoffs in Japan's animation-crazed market, timed to March school holidays.
So the whole English-speaking world has a dirty mind....Jackoleen wrote:Dear Disney Enthusiasts,

Thank you in advance for your replies.
Each person that mentioned the box office in Japan also mentioned something along the lines of "obviously I realize that that is of no consequence in comparison to what's going on over there. Pray for Japan." no one is 'more' concerned about the box office.pinkrenata wrote:Okay, I should just say nothing and move on, but ....
After everything that happened in Japan, we've got people on the forum who are most concerned about <i>Tangled</i>'s box office stats?![]()
