I wonder how many copies it sold this week, because the ocober platinums usually top the list their first week. Does anybody have any sales figures.

Yeah, it noticed that, but it didn't bother me. It is a tad un-necessary, though, since they advertise the "Beyond Beauty" documentary on the main menu as well.

At least, is there a way to cancel that insert when it appears?

Nope!! That's Disney for you. They just want your money and your attention to what they think are the extra things they do for you. I just ignored it, because it isn't on there for very long. And it is a reminder to watch a certain thing in the BD menu. Granted what they are prompting is not available with a push of a button, you do have to change the disc to get to it.

Yes. There's an X about where it says "Play Now" that you can click, and the box will go away.

I got the BD today! Yay
A little disappointed they weren't the 3D colors, but it actually looked very nice. Yes red, but boy romantic. Very beautiful color-palette.
So tempted to buy the DVD only copy as well, but then I'd be spending $50 dollars all up haha. and I won't even be getting slip cases (they were phased out in Australia)

Australia's always been my paradise, even before their banning of slipcovers.

Australia is a paradise, alright, as long as you don't call them to ask about their flushing toilets.

Can someone elaborate on the "Belle in the Library" deleted scene? I've heard only that Belle meets 3-4 new characters and that it was a good cut to make.
Were ideas from it ever used in the sequels?
I am anxious for it to get uploaded to youtube soon...

Essentially, after Beast shows Belle the library, she starts reading a book out loud and that awakens a book stand. They start conversing and they move through the library, until they meet a bust, a telescope and a globe. They start a conversation with Belle with all of them talking at once. Finally, the book stand interrupts and says they have to go, which offends them. End scene.
The scene just seems to go on forever, it's not particularly and the characters do nothing to move the story along and it doesn't develop Belle in any way. The Beast pretty much disappears through the whole thing, so they just end wasting time that could be spent developing their romance. So, I'm extremely glad they cut the scene.

Thanks! interesting that no part of these scene was ever incorporated into one of the sequels. Strange.

It's not THAT strange that it was never really used at all, because it's a pretty lame scene with uninteresting characters. Though it gets nicely awkward when the bust starts making passes at Belle via famous quotes.

All right, this is off topic, but does anyone else think it's odd they made Mrs. Potts seem like a grandma yet Chip calls her mama? Her interactions with Chip aren't unalike that of a mother... but her "older, wiser, mother hen" thing going on made her seem older plus her voice and appearance in the end (white hair). I was just curious if anyone else noticed this. I thought they could have easily had Chip call her grandma or something, but maybe they didn't do that because then everyone would wonder what happened to Chip's mom?

I always found this odd too, but then I figured Mrs Potts is simply more akin to a slave driver and orders her sweatshop-like workers to call her 'mama'.
