Checked the prices of these on Amazon.com, and they were cheaper in the stores I bought them at:



$7.99 @ The Real Canadian Superstore. This one also includes Nestor the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey and Rudolph's Shiny New Year. Can't wait to hear the Heat Miser/Snow Miser song.



$7.83 @ Walmart - I still haven't seen this one. Looking forward to watching it, but I think I'll save it for Feb 2.



$14.93 @ Walmart - pretty good deal considering the Blu-Ray+DVD+Digital Copy combo was only $2 more than just the DVD. If anyone's looking for this one at Walmart, it's in their discounted Christmas gift movie racks they currently have out.

$25.99 @ The Real Canadian Superstore (not a bad price for a combo. Blu-Ray's comin' down!)

The only other DVD/Blu that's on my radar for this year is The A-Team. Can't wait to pick it up as it was filmed around here and someone I know was involved with the movie.

Inception (Blu-ray / DVD Combo Pack) - Limited Edition Briefcase Packaging

Ordered this bad boy on November 11th, delivered by UPS today. Limited to "2000" units in the United States (but readily available pretty much everywhere in the world), this set cost $45 at WBShop.

Since it was limited to only 2000 units in the USA, it sold out within 3 days and many people are reselling theirs on Amazon Marketplace or eBay for anywhere between $175 to upwards of $1,000. If anyone was a big fan of this film and wants to get exclusive packaging, I'd advise you to avoid these eBay sales and order from another country. In addition to being availble in Canada at HMV, you can purchase the UK Briefcase set on amazon.co.uk, which will set you back about the same price. The Blu-ray discs are Region Free, but the DVD is Region 2 specific. The only thing not included in this set is 'The Cobol Job' Prequel Comic Book (which is tiny, by the way).

In short - If you loved Inception and want awesome collectible packaging, but didn't order the WBShop set, order the UK set from amazon.co.uk, you're still getting the best of the best, and the film in hi-def.

Picked up Shrek - The Whole Story on Blu-ray at CD Tradepost today for $26.99. That made it worth waiting an extra day to get it there. Also it was the "talking box" that is exclusive to Best Buy, so that was a bonus.

Also picked up "Flipped" on standard DVD for $9.99, also at CD Tradepost.

Now is a good time to try your Christmas shopping at a great site. Spend some time looking through the Blu-ray inventory at all of the stores you want and remember right now you buy two DVD's, Blu-rays, CD's you get one free. Pretty hard to find a store that offers that kind of deal.

An early Christmas gift to myself, 2 of my favorite horror films (I know every word of both films by heart) that were out-of-print for years just... came back in-print, guaranteed-delivery by Amazon.com. I just hope Hard to Die is the full 85-minute TV version:
