You know what? I'm starting to think they're only doing these kinds of things because of what Tangled was.

1) Because it wasn't referred to as "Rapunzel", but instead Tangled to attract boys.

2) Because it was CGI, hand-drawn animation is "stupid" and anything hand-drawn is gonna be "bad".

Honestly, I'm beginning to think those were the only reasons why Tangled did better financially last year than The Princess and the Frog did, which WOULD have done better if Disney wasn't trying to purposely make it "fail" by not releasing it over Thanksgiving. I mean, GOD!!!

It's like they're playing favoritism! And I'm sorry if this comes off as BS, but this is how I really feel right now.

Oh, and maybe a real factor in all this is the fact that Disney's trying to spite us by giving us shit like Hannah Montana. You know what? It's their OWN fault for their shortcomings! :(

I am not aware of any previous rumors stating that the film had been re-titled, but it seems to me that those rumors did indeed have some merit.

I will definitely think twice before sharing anything like this again with the forum, although I completely understand why you would speculate at my previous report when in all honestly I cannot offer any visual proof since this is second hand information, albeit from an extremely reliable source.

Considering Tangled was apparently popular and successful, it's not surprising. Negative reinforcement. If it works again, this'll probably end up with a string of films very similar in structure just like the '90s. I wonder if they're planning to release <strike>Hansel and Gretel</strike>Oven around 2015-2016.

I can't help but think they took the idea from Pixar, considering they tend to have brief titles. The less words and syllables the better.

Maybe that's part of the reason behind the Walt Disney Pictures logo change.

It's true everyone. Personally, I never doubted JustOneBite87 but now we have confirmation from another reliable source as well.

Oh my god... I don't know if I should feel sad, angry or resigned. This has veered so far away from what I had been looking forward to originally, that I'm almost not interested at all anymore. Poor HCA.

I know I hadn't commented lately but I certainly didn't doubt it either. Given what happened with Tangled it made perfect sense.

In the excerpt from the blog that Sotiris posted, Steve Hulett says that someone at Disney has as idea of the next film to go into production after Wreck-It Ralph but won't reveal what it is; isn't that film supposed to be King of the Elves or has that changed at some point and I've missed it?

In regards to "Frozen", I don't mind the title change; as enigmawing said, it isn't exactly surprising after the success of Tangled. I know a lot of people are going to be upset about the title change and I understand why, but I don't see it as that much of a big deal. The blog doesn't go into any detail about the film, he just says he knows something about it, so I'm going to wait to see what exactly that information is whenever he discloses it.

I hope so too, any information about what is going on at Disney animation is appreciated, especially as Disney don't seem to like revealing anything much themselves these days.

I see what you did there.

If the name change is true it really doesn't bother me. The change to Rapunzel didn't bother me, I love the movie and couldn't imagine calling it anything other than Tangled. I'm sure I'll feel the same for "Frozen" ... assuming it's good.

Yes, but shortening a title makes it seem less special. Just because it worked for Tangled, now they're doing it with all their movies? Imagine if they did the same for The Little Mermaid or Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

I'll be okay with Snow Queen being CG, but I really don't WANT its title shortened. :(

It's just funny to think of Disney movie titles as one-word adjectives. Peter Pan would be Flown, Snow White would be Fairest (kinda cool actually), etc.

YAY for the CGI! But, as for the title.....

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really, it's a good title I guess, but WDAS is REALLY changing....and not in a good way. They're being really desperate!

If the film turns out to be as good as Tangled, they can call it whatever they want.

I don't doubt that this is true, but I'll bet that it doesn't stay Frozen. I don't think it will ever be called Snow Queen (you'd really have to be stupid to think it would get named that), but I'm guessing it will eventually be changed to something less generic.

At least I hope so.
